    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

The Coupe is done!! Ready for maiden as soon as I can find a place big enough. It came out a little bit heavier than I wanted but at least if I only fly it I wouldn't have to register ;) Final weight is 105 grams (3.7oz) I wanted it sub 100 grams so I only missed t by a little. Added a bunch...

FAA Announces their rules for radio controlled aircraft

Not doing it... Once you register the FAA knows you fly and when they realize that registration doesn't work and they want to pass down more Bull Sh*t laws they will already know you fly. Not to mention the precedent with registration is set, it is all about money. In the full scale world it...

Are you going to register with the FAA? Cast Your Vote!

I'm not doing it. I deal with the FAA every day of my life, the reason I fly RC is because up until now if you followed the rules set forth by the AMA you didn't have to deal with the FAA. I see every day how the FAA works, right now the fee is $5 once every 3 years... When the Feds start to...

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

The other day I airbrushed a coat of Nitrate Dope on the Monocoupe, then yesterday and today I airbrushed the cowl, wheel pants, and landing gear legs. Just a little bit of detail painting and it will be ready for final assembly! On a side note, I may have got a new job today! :fist_pump:

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

So now the part I've never done before, and trying to find info on the topic is nearly impossible.. Multi colored surfaces. It is some kind of closely guarded secret!! So here is what I did, if the surface had a stripe I covered it white first. I then used the drawling on the plan to get the...

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

On to the red, had to be really careful as Sig only gave me a 12"x16" piece of red tissue. Tissue won't conform to compound curves, so the fuse was done in sections, sorry I didn't get more pics things were going so well I didn't want to stop to take some!!

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

Receiver and ESC in showing the removed plugs and the shortened pig tails, not in the final location yet just getting an idea. With the receiver, ESC, motor, servos and battery I'm at 70 grams.

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

Servos going in, I shortened the servo pigtails and didn't put the plugs back on just used a few short pieces of heat shrink which only saved about a gram but hey it all adds up.

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

Made the motor mount out of 1/8th lite ply which gave me perfect back spacing for the prop. Should have plenty of cooling air, as the hole for the battery access in the belly will double as the cooling air exit. Fuse with the motor is 34 grams, I might just make my 95 gram target :D
