    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

Finished the wing tonight, which for the most part finishes the building. Wing weighs in at 11 grams and the tail at 2.

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

Thanks man!!!! :D I can, I built the main box of the fuse a couple of winters ago but I can pick up there.

    Safe Workshop Humidity/Temperature For Planes?

Moisture is the enemy, if you have a place that stays relatively dry it doesn't matter how cold it gets. From experience I will say don't leave your planes sitting on the floor if it get's damp in the winter like after a snow storm that is melting, that is asking for rust and corrosion. I...

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

I know right? I would love to be building a giant scale but I just don't have the funds this year, so I decided to do some old school and new school blending (I have a Sig Skybolt I'm going to convert to electric also). I would never have even thought about putting this on that other site I...

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

So on to the wings! Leading and trailing edges, tip parts and rear spar are pinned down and glued in first. Then on to the ribs, all THIRTY-TWO of them lol. Most of the ribs are 1/32" thick and laser cut (I know, Sig and laser cut don't seem to go together!) The root ribs and the ribs where...

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

Put the gear inserts in and shaped them, the fairings will be done after it's covered. Time to put the fuse aside and start the wings!

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

Got the other Wheel pant finished and started the cowling, the rings that came with the kit were a little undersized but just a couple of scrap 1/8th sheet took care of that problem. I carve the cowl bumps out of 3/8"x3/8"x5/8" stick.

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

Yep, pre died. Got it from Sig as well. I think I saw something like that on one of the other threads. I'm using the tissue on the Monocoupe though, kinda sticking with the old school theme. ;)

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

Japanese tissue, with a coat of Sig Nitrate dope. Going old school on everything but the electronics :)

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

Horizontal stab finished, carved one of the wheel pants and used a little tape to help me visualize the end result :)

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

Started the horizontal stab and the elevators before I burned out for the evening.

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

Fin and rudder. Added the extra 1/16th sq. to create the hinge line (hinge will be blenderm tape after covering) and a piece of 1/16th sheet for a control horn block. Still haven't decided what the control horn will be but will probably lay up 2 layers of .5 oz fiberglass and cut my own.

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

Finished the fuse sheeting tonight. Removed a piece of center stringer and will leave that little square uncovered for access to the battery.

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

Already having daydreams of taking these plans up to my local print shop and having them blown up to around say 110 inch span and stick a DLE 40 on it :)

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

Hacker A10-12s, with a modified GWS 5x3 prop and a 2S 200 mAh 20C pack. Going to be ridiculously overpowered as that set up should put out around 35 Watts (I want the plane to be less than 3.5 ounces) but I'll just keep the throttle pulled way back and my flight times will go through the roof.

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

Got my servos today as well so did some mapping with pieces and parts. SOMEHOW I gotta cram all that junk in a 16 inch fuselage!

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

Tonight I just about got the stringers and sheeting finished, just got one more piece of sheeting on the belly to put in. The instrument panel glare shield is made out of a piece of sketch paper colored with black permanent marker. To this point what I have built weights 13 Grams, so I'm on...

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

This evening I tackled the landing gear, when I was a kid and would build the Guillows warbirds for rubber power I'd always leave the gear off because I hate bending that little wire. That really wasn't an option here lol. Got the wire bent and attached it with epoxy reinforced with thread...

    Indoor Monocoupe anyone?

Yep, she's just sore right now. She had a golf ball sized tumor on her pituitary gland at the base of her brain, it was causing her to lose her vision and also because of the chemical imbalance it was causing the doctors think it triggered her diabetes. Luckily it was benign, and they got to...
