    AJ Aircraft 73 Laser 230z

Hey Y'all. I just got back from the IMAC worlds, and while I was out there I picked up the new 73" Laser 230z from Tim Jesky at AJ Aircraft. AJ Aircraft, http://www.aj-aircraft.com is Andew Jesky, and his family's new company. Many of us have had other planes that Andrew had designed...

long long downlines!! what about fuel clunks in the tank???

No pictures, but Bunky is correct. The 8oz tank has three lines: One has a straight tube into the middle of the tank, this one goes to your carb. One line goes into the bottom of the tank and goes to the filler fitting on the side of the plane. The third line goes to the top of the tank...

I run a 50oz main tank and an 8oz header. Never have a problem with fuel flow.

Smaller trailers for 40% + sized Giants!

I've seen a few Aero Express trailers for sale on RCU... Not too badly priced usually. TL3... I know where one just like mine is that could be bought, in VA.

11406=4584-image.jpg 11406=4585-image.jpg 11406=4586-image.jpgOk, working on the cross bracing, the first and second bays are done with 8x8mm balsa, and are X braced. The rest is in a zig zag pattern and is done with 6x6mm balsa. The verticle bracing is done with 6x6mm balsa until you get to...

Smaller trailers for 40% + sized Giants!

So two years later, I really like it. I usually carry two 40% IMAC planes or one IMAC plane and my 2.5m Futura jet. I can reach every thing from outside the trailer. Everything just fits well, and I get 22-24 mpg with it behind my wagon. Oh yeah, this trailer only weighs about...

Smaller trailers for 40% + sized Giants!

So, I'll go first. A few years ago I was using a really nice normal 6x10 cargo trailer with side door, and back barn doors. I first pulled it with my 5.4L Expedition... I usually carried one plane maybe two 40% Dalton's and would get 9-12 mpg. I did use the Expedition to tow my mustang...

Smaller trailers for 40% + sized Giants!

I wanted to start a thread for those that don't want to dive a truck everyday to pull 40% or bigger RC plane. Many have seen the thread on FG about trailer setup and in my opinion it's insane to pull this giant gas hog of a trailer with a huge vehicle to tow a 40-50 lb airplane. It also...

I wondered what happened to your Evo 260... Before I left Horizon I almost bought one for a scale project. Kolm is doing some pretty incredible new engines. One may be actually what will be in the challenger. ;-)

Hey Reyn, I love you M12. The solo would be pretty cool. Have you tried the Fiala? Those are the best for the valachs, and may be worth trying in the Moki. So, Gotz is a good buddy of mine and of course carries and services, Moki, Valach, and Kolm. The Valach are know to be...

24 hours in a day. Sleep when you're dead! So, the side stringers are two piece CNC ply. Note that the parts with the hole 1/2 way through match to make one stringer. You can see the parts clamped together. 10328=3718-image.jpg 10328=3719-image.jpg 10328=3720-image.jpg...

Scale MattyMatt's Exclusiv Modellbau 50% Challenger II

Hey bike racer, the only experience with the Dalton yak was a few years ago when Ryan was flying the prototype at the Nats. It flys very well. Unfortunately, I haven't flown one yet nor built one. Maybe soon though. I'm flying the MEL, and absolutely love the plane.

Next is to glue and clap the side frames and bottom of the motor box. I used tight bond 3 for these joints. 9395=3306-image.jpg 9395=3307-image.jpg
