Yeah the covering is deff cheaper and I like working with it. One other thing I didn’t mention about it is it doesn’t stretch as well around curved surfaces like wing tips.

Nope it is set to 0 right and down but it does need a touch of right. On mine I think 1 degree would prolly be enough but I just mixed it out in my radio. Basically once I get to half throttle it starts to bring some left rudder in to keep it tracking straight.

It goes down really well. To me is goes down very similar to ultracote. One thing to note about it though is its not a thick, you have to be really careful with how much heat you use around seams as they will pull much easier, and some colors fade or discolor really quickly. I covered a plane...

Not sure with ultracote but I know the hobbyking covering I use a lot that the transparent stuff is lighter. Not sure by how much though.

I do my best to make nice clean solder joints. Would look even better if I had the proper tip as the one I was using was a touch to big but it still worked well.

Decided I didnt feel like doing a thread on this so I'm sharing here. Took about 6 hours to get it all done to this step. I broke one of my calibration buttons so i need to replace it and then i just need to load Arduino on to my laptop so I can put the software into it and start playing with...

Yup always little things to make it better. 1/16” is really good. Some print shops use really good quality paper that doesn’t have as much movement in it as moisture gets it or out of it. I have been told like with the 60 size profiles that you can see as much as 1/4”-3/8” of movement

I’m sure the programming does have it but would just a bigger setup with bigger load cells. I will start a build thread for this if you guys would like.

The load cells I have are a pair of 5kg and a pair of 2kg. One guy on the original thread for it was using his for models up to 2000 grams

Yup. Designed for gliders but once calibrated you just set your glider on it and it will tell you it’s all up weight and how far back from the le of the wing the cg is. No balancing on your fingers or on pencils. Doing it the geek way.

Was always afraid of doing that. Nice thing with my taranis and using openTX is the ability to use the pc. I have everything saved on the radio, hard drive of pc, and a thumb drive.

You can only select and delete the viewport when you are in paper space. If still in model space then you can’t select the viewport but can select everything you have drawn.

Actually you know what I won’t do separate cad files. I just need to make the viewport and print area big enough to accept your largest section. Then just one at a time move each section into it and convert to pdf. Will end up being a few pdf but can all be done from one cad file.

He is trying to print up a set of plans he drew. Most at least for me local print shops can’t open cad files so they need to be converted to pdf. It’s pretty easy to do but takes some time as if it’s not done right then they don’t convert full size.

Thanks. @Snoopy1 hopefully I will get your plans converted today or tomorrow. Got a little busy at work after doing this tutorial. Also I’m prolly gonna split each bordered section of your drawings into its own CAD file to make this easier. @Alky6 i think multiple viewports would work great...
