Discussion The I’m going out flying thread 2018

I too would like more input. I am of the same thought process. My 106 has a scant 3 or 4 gallons through it. If it keeps waking up like the beast 157, there isn't a prop on this planet that would be enough for it. Ok, a bit of an exaggeration there. Lol. But I too would buy a 27x11 or 12 if I...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

You can pre-order from Horizon Hobby. Their shipment is due in a few weeks. Middle of October to be exact. Price is 399 if you pre-order now. Guess how I know this? LOL

Scale 1/4 Scale 148" Shrike Commander

That's really not too bad. Considering its size. I keep thinking back to my old Lanier Extra 300 from eons ago. Heck, my buddy was the boss of the fields with his old and heavy Zenoas and the old early and massively heavy mighty dub engines. (Give you an idea how long ago that was? Lol) That was...

What a really cool idea. That would be awesome. Now if only Kelly @49dimes will send me his new camera and you could make one of these for me, I would be set!! Hey, that is the same torque wrench my Son and I have. Perfect size for the field box and handy to have around. Not very hurtful on...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

That is just so rude. Some poor little bambi gave her life just so you could start your airplane engines. LOL...J/K. I have to admit, Deer Skin feels pretty good on the ole grippers. OH heck...I remember that stuff. It was really great on Keebler Town House crackers too. Great for picnics and...

Scale 1/4 Scale 148" Shrike Commander

I really hate cutting cowls. Especially on a twin where the engine pods are on the wings and are so darned noticeable. I think you would be surprised with the performance of the 40cc twins. I keep looking at different DS plans. As well as other projects. It is amazing to me that many, "MANY"...

Discussion The I’m going out flying thread 2018

It is interesting that you should post this. I have heard many people claim the same statement. I pretty much devote all my prop purchases from Northwest RC and trust Tim implicitly. I can pretty much count on his input as being right on the money. The dude does a lot of flying and he knows what...

Agreed. Nothing like a "twin" set of...."twins". Know what I mean? The sound is just...crazy good music.

Seems kind of silly to have all that wood back there when the rest of the formers are lightened. May not help a whole lot if you open it up. But every little bit here and there will make a big difference.

    Sport 50CC AMR STICK THREAD

Couldn't agree more. I keep thinking that "after this one, I am going to take a break for a while". Yeah...um, right. Ok.... over night is not a break. LOL. But the finish line is sweet to taste when the juice of the fruit looks and flies so amazing.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

That is totally cool. It reminds me of the "Koogle" peanut butter back from when I was a kid. My favorite was Banana. Course they had Chocolate, Strawberry....(this one came in handy cuz ya didn't have to break out the jelly/jam jar when making a peanut butter and jam s'mich.) I sure do miss my...

Mmmm…… Not yet. Key word, "yet". Well there you go. I think we should do a double build/assembly thread. Get yours ordered. I bet they won't last long.

Discussion The I’m going out flying thread 2018

I wouldn't say scared me. I would say more like... Unexpected pleasure. lol. It was so fun, I can't tell you. I was giggling the whole time I was out flying. A couple of intense moments made it all worth the effort. I don't know if it is the fact that it is so small.... but just flying a warbird...

Discussion The I’m going out flying thread 2018

First maiden flight went as I pretty much expected. All over the freaking sky. Climbing rocket fast to the moon and rolling hard left. Ugh! Take off was actually pretty clean, once air borne though it was a whole different story. Uh..no... wait...ah trim, trim, trim...down trim, more down trim...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

For what it is worth, Hangar 9 is bringing out a true 20cc gas Stang. https://www.horizonhobby.com/p-51d-mustang-20cc-arf-han2820?clickpath=AIR_NEW_RELEASE_rotator1_09132018 I already have an order pending. That 28i would be badass in that lil Stang!

Unfortunately Snoops... 3w does not make a "Mighty Mini Dub". The smallest they make is the 28i that you posted the photo of. Trust and believe, if I could've shoe-horned it in, I'd have done it. But good lord, do you realize they swing the same prop as the 35 cc'ers...?? Can you 'magine a 35cc...
