    Help! Making landing gear

When steel is rolled through dies, it is done either hot or cold. Hot is cheap and usually has a dark crusty finish and os inconsistent in its sizing.. Cold rolled is the same process but the steel is formed cold. Takes a heck of a lot more pressure and work to form the steel into the determined...

    Help! Making landing gear

If that gets brazed to the axle support that goes vertical including the washer, I wouldn’t worry about it cracking a little bit. And further with the struts included, you should be fine with mild steel cold rolled, IMHO.

    Help! Making landing gear

If you stick to about 1.5 x the diameter in radius you should be ok. At 5/8” that is 2x. You may wish to consider some mild steel cold roll rod versus the piano wire or drill rod. Less tendency to crack in those tight bends, but you’ll have less “spring” available to you before it takes a...

    DA50 help

Hi Bartman: you are technically correct. However, I believe @49dimes is referring to another phenomenon that occurs, and usually much more pronounced in an alcohol engine that has a much wider range of stoichometric ratio. Essentially, the fuel is acting as a cooling process. A little more rich...

Looks great Rob! Rubbing alcohol is really only going to be good to remove plant based and people based oils (works great for castor oil removal... I know Rob....shudder..... hahaha). Acetone or lacquer thinner - but not sure about removing or harming the existing finish. Be sure you don’t get...

Thanks! Happy could bring back some good memories. I am blessed my dad is still around and is also involved in this project. My dad has been working with my younger son rebuilding a go-cart that he built when he was 12, then my brother and I had, now my boys. Absolutely ecstatic they are so into...

Lots of updates. Mojo 25 done and flown (quite a bit actually). It has a lot of coupling in knife edge. Also needed down and right thrust added to it. The SKF 3536 is way overpowered for this but is fun to fly. I think if I could get the wing loading down, it would help considerably. Fun...

    AutoCAD Tips and Tricks

Thanks Chris. I learned some new stuff here. The newer versions of AutoCAD are surely much more friendly than what I am accustomed. Most of what you did, I do you using commands in the command prompt. Very interesting and simple way to set up a single viewport. Thanks for sharing! Good luck Snoopy!
