The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Well I didn't go flying but, I did go take pictures last night of a friend flying his Pawnee that is setup for night flying. Also, got to try out the remote triggering of 2 flashes, one on each side of the runway, that I have been wanting to try for over a year. Needless to say, it was a blast...

With the helical cut gears, they should be smooth and quieter while transitioning.

    DLE-170 - What version

Thank you Terry. I will have to recheck, but I think I am right about 2 full turns on the H needle. Weather is going to crap fast, so it may be a few days before I can run it again, but I will definitely try what you suggested.

    DLE-170 - What version

Hello everyone! Does anyone know how to tell which version of the DLE-170 I have? Do you go by serial numbers, looks or both? Also, what are the changes between versions? I have heard that there was a reed issue with one version, but I don't know which. This question is coming up because my...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Got a couple flights on the 330 LX today for the first time with the re3's. Awesome sound and the power is unreal. The DLE170 pulled the plane around nice before, but now it is unreal! Great transition and quiet at least until 3/4 throttle then it starts to rip the Mej 32x10 with ease.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Got an extra wide version of @Terryscustom plane stand because the Extra 330LX and the 42% Edge were to wide for the standard stand and it is AWESOME!!! Pictures of the 330LX on the stand with plenty of room to maneuver the plane. Now if only my garage ceiling was high enough to rotate the...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Well I couldn't wait any more and went home at lunch to fire the plane up. It does run and very nicely I must add :) Gained right at 200 rpm on the ground with a Mej 32x10 prop.

    Header tape

Yes they are. Straight from Chief Aircraft. I fired the plane up at lunch and it gained right at 200 rpm on the ground :)
