    Switches for 30cc to 50cc

I'm using nothing but magnetically actuated switches. EMCOTEC makes several (Esprit carries some), including regulated ones, and I also use the 15-amp Zepsus switches (several US distributors)...

    Name this ARESTI figure

I am not a fan of naming figures. I just call them as they are written, less chance for confusion. From inverted pull to 45 downline Center 2 of 4 on downline Pull vertical Pull 135 to 45 downline Center 4 of 8 on downline Exit positive

WE ALL NEED TO ACT TO SAVE THE HOBBY

Perhaps. Bear in mind that Bob Brown is very pro-drone. He has been the tie breaking vote on a couple of votes on the EC in favor of drone inclusion. He is no friend of GS either from what I have been told.

WE ALL NEED TO ACT TO SAVE THE HOBBY

Here is a thread on the AMA website where you can make your feelings known to them directly: http://amablog.modelaircraft.org/amagov/2016/03/09/making-revisions-to-the-special-rule-for-model-aircraft-into-law/

WE ALL NEED TO ACT TO SAVE THE HOBBY

Keep in mind that right now there are 2 versions of the Reauthorization bill. The House version (AIRR 2016), which is very much like the old Section 336 and adds in a better definition of a CBO, and the Senate version, which contains language very detrimental to our hobby, The hope is that when...

    Starting DA-150

I have never started a gas engine of any size like that, including the DLA58 I fly now. Low throttle, Close choke, turn it over until it is wet, ignition on, flips til it pops, then choke off and start at idle.

Anyone Running 32:1 Redline in a DA?

I'm a bit of a simpleton. If the guy who designs, manufactures, sells, and services the engine says to use 40:1 Redline, well, I use 40:1 Redline. But that just me!! o_O

Are you going to register with the FAA? Cast Your Vote!

I really think people are making too much of this. I've been registered for a month and so far nothing has changed. Register and forget about it. Go fly and have fun. All this drama.

Why Drones Are Scaring The Feds

You know what it costs to register a $300,000,000 B777 for 3 years..... $5. https://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/aircraft_certification/aircraft_registry/register_aircraft/ When they bump the price for that one then I'll start worrying about the sUAS registration fee going up.

Are you going to register with the FAA? Cast Your Vote!

They had already secured an agreement on that before they first posted about it. I heard about it unofficially before even the Expo. Each update since only reinforces that this is going to happen. Things at the FAA generally move slowly, so this is actually pretty quickly.

Are you going to register with the FAA? Cast Your Vote!

That was not the question I was responding to. There has only been one person that the AMA tried to expel, but ended up doing a short suspension on. It was a few years back, he was flying FPV at high altitude around the traffic pattern for the Las Vegas airport. Early bad press for our hobby...

    Saying goodbye to AMA?

It's almost like deja vu all over again!! This is not the first time, not I fear the last time, that the AMA has set up demonstrations for FAA people involved in the sUAS Rulemaking efforts. The revolving door at the FAA makes it hard to keep informed people in a position for any useful amount...

Are you going to register with the FAA? Cast Your Vote!

Clubs are free to do what they want to as long as they do it legally. So clubs can ban helicopters, turbines, require electric only, etc. A club could require you to wear a pink Tu-tu if they did it in accordance with their bylaws. What clubs cannot do is something like violate federal...

Are you going to register with the FAA? Cast Your Vote!

There is nothing that indicates that being registered will have anything to do with paying a claim. All AMA requires is that you follow the safety code, but even then it is not a nit pick thing. For instance, I have never heard of a claim being denied because there was no AMA number on the model.
