The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Should I take the train? Or maybe a passenger jet? Or..oh hey, how about the Bus. Naaa…. I know. I will jump in my Behemoth Yak and fly myself there. Course I would have to stop every twenty minutes for some Redline Hi-test blend. Gimmie a little time, and don't start without me. LOL. Gonna be...

    Cool Smmmooookin'!

Right? Some guys just do it right. Gosh, Supa Tim knows how to lay down some smoke too. It's mesmerizing to watch him torque rolling a plane six inches off the ground and watch it literally disappear in cloud of smoke. Good stuff....!! Not his best disappearing act, but a nice one all the same.

Discussion The I’m going out flying thread 2018

There is one other option. My son and I have had awesome success with the MTW 75 "rear" dump cans on the 50-60cc size motors. We've gained a consistent 250 to 300 rpm increase over any other exhaust we've tried. I remember one of my 111's went from a scant 6200ish to a flat out 6600 rpm static...

    Rebuild or not?

It is really a shame about your Yak. :( You might contact Tony and ask him about the cost of shipping for the wood. Keep in mind, my 40% 129" had a "LOT" of big wood in the package. It was exactly $93.00 to get it shipped here from China. Maybe since your 100cc is smaller, maybe it would be...

I am really glad you mentioned this. I was interested in the "X". But I had heard there was some nasty issues. I like my RF8 and have been very pleased with it so...why change right?

Discussion The I’m going out flying thread 2018

Crazy huh? My son had two of them and both of them were exactly the same at 16 3/4 pounds. I really can't say why yours was over the 17 pound mark. But as you mentioned, the 16'ish mark was pretty normal weight. I had heard of others that also set the timing back to keep the GP61 from...

Discussion The I’m going out flying thread 2018

See, that's the thing about the GP's. They run "Grrrrrrreat" once they are started. But everyone I have talked to that owns one says they are a to start. I almost decided on one, but then I had been told they will "BITE" you and they are hard to start. So I steered clear. Any truth to that...

Sooo...flight report on the Twisted Edge, fun fun fun. Who said foam can't be fun? Lol The Baby Yak on the other hand... The plane flies good. But I think it could be sooo much better. The DLE 61 is a decent and reliable motor. But just way too anemic at best for this plane. I swapped...

Oh my goodness, will you look at this? No wind, clear blue skies and the field to myself for a few. Surely the temperature is bound to come up to around 90 today. But for now, it's all about some Twisted Edge and Baby Yak flyin' for me. Ah yeah!

After looking at that area again, I am starting to wonder if it wouldn't just be best to completely remove the wrinkled covering. In the past, I have seen Ultracoat that has been heated repeatedly and shrunk over and over become hard as the hubs of hell. I have tried to salvage pieces that have...
