3DHS New Products and General Plane Info/Help for Fanatics

I had one of those older v1 55's as well, flew Bivens' 58" Edge at the Cape Girardeau FLI last year, MUCH better flying plane than the older 55" one was. If you like that 55, then fly it recklessly and when it dies, replace with a 58" one. You will like it even more!

    3DHS 70" Velox

I've got a 4325-425 on my Velox. 6s5300 packs, 18x10 xoar prop when I want high energy, 19x8 for more low/slow 3d. Really nice setup, and lighter than the 8s ones too. Lots of power.

    78'' Extra

There are a number of people that plan to install them on the 3dhs "bigfoot" that should begin shipping next week. I follow the thread on rcgroups for that plane, and at least 3-4 people bought the twin 40 for it. So hopefully that sample size will get a good bit larger very soon. I'm eagerly...

3DHS --FLY LOW-- Always OFF TOPIC

It's been done... a guy out in Colorado did exactly that with a 78" Extra. The 35cc wasn't cutting it at his altitude. So he slapped a dle-55 in it.

    78'' Extra

I like how nicely that thing fits inside the cowl. Looks like a great choice on this plane. Will be eagerly awaiting some flight reports!

    78'' Extra

Joe, any pics of that 40cc motor mated to the Extra? Would love to see some shots of it. Got an email back from DA a few days ago when I inquired about the DA-35 availability, they said parts are on the way and it should be soon. So who knows when that motor will come out. I recently acquired...

Altitude Hobbies Hosted ZTW ESC discussion/ Q & A thread

most of the ztw's come with bare wires. I'm not 100% sure if the small ones are the same or not though.

Is your binding a physical one, surface bevels hitting each other? Or just tight hinges for whatever reason? You might try removing the linkage and seeing if the elevator can move smoothly from full up to full down. If the bevels are hitting each other, you might be able to squish the wood a...

Yes, you should be fine. I'm using the Ice 75 lite's internal BEC (5 amp sortof rated, probably more like 4 amps on 4s though from what I've read), for 100's of flights on 4 HS-5085 servos. On my first one I ran the hacker esc, which was a 4 amp built in, ran about 500 flights on it with never a...

    78'' Extra

What broke on it? Did they give a possible cause as to why it broke? They are making you pay, so obviously they don't consider it a manufacturing defect... Swap that eme35 back in there and stick a pipe on it! Wait you sold that motor didn't you... how about trying the new valley view 40cc twin?

    3DHobbyShop 51" AJ Slick

They will be fine. Ran those in my previous 3 51's. Current one has the 5085's in it. Not much difference really.

Yep! I'll be there, along with several other Little Rock area guys I fly with regularly.

    ZTW "B" Series 65A ESC

Good to know! I've always left all my ZTW's on auto, and they have been perfect. For Castle ESC's not so much, there I've heard many say that larger motors should be at lower timing, and smaller ones (under 10oz or so) should be default, which is medium I think. No idea what that translates too...

I did too... had owned three Mojo 60's, 2 Sabre 56's (kits, not the arf), Hyperactive 48, sabre 48, mojo 40, mojo 25, a chinn yak, and a score of smaller profiles like the sabre 35. Swore I'd never be without a mojo 60. Don't own a single profile now though... I still post on the pro-bro site...

    3DHobbyShop 51" AJ Slick

The 51 was my transition plane from profiles into actually liking some fatties... had tried a lot of other fatties before and hated them all. But the 51" Slick finally made me like a full fused plane. Be careful... you might find yourself selling off all your profiles!
