    78'' Extra

I run a single 2s li-fe on mine, 2200mah. Battery is powering 5 digital servos (7955's and 2 7945's) as well as the ignition. I am using about 400 mah per flight, and each flight is 12 minutes. I get an easy 4 flights before recharging the pack. I have a second pack and can just swap it out and...

Loving my 78... feels almost like a 50cc plane, but way easier to transport. Less fuel thirsty, easier all around. More manueverable than 50cc planes, and yet more imac/smooth flying by far than a 70" class plane like a 71" Slick. Actually considering selling off the 71" Slick and keeping the...

NEW Gecko Series ESCs from ZTW available soon!

subscribing and watching with interest! Any specs on the weights on them? Especially the 45 amp model. Have a project that it would work nicely in.

3DHS --FLY LOW-- Always OFF TOPIC

I could be talked out of an orange 71" Slick... are you looking for an airframe only? Or with gear too? might need aronph or someone to deliver it though, I think you are a bit far from me. Unless perhaps you are going to Cape Girardeau, I might be able to arrange transportation to that event.

    78'' Extra

I built mine in 4 days, you can do it! And I was just working 3 hours or so in the garage each night. Build is quick and easy. The hardest part is getting all of the hinging done. After that it's super fast.

I will offer this though... I ran an airboss 45 on a motor that was somehow wound "hot". It was all purchased as a combo on an ExtremeFlight 48" Extra. Since it was their in-house combo setup I never watt metered it. Plane had fantastic vertical performance and lots of power, but every once in a...

Did you read the posts about the amount of smoke oil he was running to get that much though? Something like 40 ounces in 4 minutes, pump was wide open and the plane was dripping with smoke oil afterwards.

Most definitely displeasure. Why I ever go to that site when links like that are posted is beyond me. And then I keep reading even after I'm disgusted. no more... Definitely some people there that should listen to Ben's advice during the 3dhs podcasts!

First off - if you have play in the control surfaces you have a problem. Either worn servo gears, bad servos, loose screws in your linkages, something. That's purely a setup problem and will definitely make the plane fly worse. Next - if you are really nose heavy lots of things will be harder...

yes, but you could always buy the gas one and then just run electric. The EF gas planes are nice because they still have a quick release hatch pin. They just use two of em. So battery changes are still quite easy on it.

71" AJ Slick Building, Flying, and Questions

two batteries and a good charger can keep you flying nearly constantly... I don't buy more than two of any size. I've also got 1200 watts of charging power supply, and two icharger 306's, plus an icharger 208 to go along with it. I usually don't charge at more than 3c, which on a 6s5000 takes...

Glacier 6s5300's. Easier and cheaper! Upgrade to a Motrolfly 4330 also and you will a rocketship. If you go gas you'll need a new cowl and canopy and gas motorbox too.

Oooh that's a nice option! I wonder what the dimensions of that motor are? I can measure the cowl width of my 78" Extra tonight Craig. Presumably the MXS will be similar. You going to Cape Girardeau again Craig? I think we will skip this year and hit the Fort Smith, AR one instead. Much...

I managed to get 4 more flights on my 78" Extra. Flights 2-5 on it. Loving that plane. Need a bit more power than the DLE-30 provides, but still it's an awesome plane. Really makes me want the 78" MXS though!!!

    3DHS 42" slick

I think that flying styles have changed and that is the main difference. 3-4 years back I saw lots of people doing really low and slow moves. And the older v1 42" Slicks were built lighter with transparent covering on the bottom and lighter made landing gear. Then people started doing more...

    78'' Extra

Maidened mine today, only got one flight on it though, tried some knock off servo arms, big mistake. Should have gone with the SWB or Secraft double lock arms, but I tried some others. The pinch bolt on 3 arms broke on the first flight. The left aileron then slipped on the spline and I fought...

    3DHS 70" Velox

You mentioned already that you were thinking a 6s5000 setup, so use the 4325 wound for 6s and you still have a light setup (compared the 8s setup you had before at least). The motor is only about 4 ounces heavier than the Hacker a50 series, and the power is well worth that tradeoff I think. I...

I think it was mentioned somewhere once that those planes have a depron core, and that's probably what is being eaten away.
