Mate, it cost me $25 in fuel for the car to just get to my club. Costs me nothing to charge my lipos, a few cents of coal fired electrons from the state electricity supply.

Yes, and the 91" extra or yak will be in my sights for later this year. I'll run the standard setup in as much as DA60, RE2 pipe (not as peaky and broader mid range spool up then the KS pipe), etc, but probably Hitec 7950 servos all around (hopefully glitch free by then). Love the idea of...

That is what I was thinking, but over here DA doesn't seem to move the same volume of airframes as EF in USA does. But I like having spares. Put 6 packs through the 60" extra today. Changed the Castle ICE100 over to Icelite 100A as I had it a tad nose heavy right on the wing tube. Had a...

Why not get both Luv3D? Can never have enough airframes, even if you don't build them, having them in boxes stored is great insurance and supports the flying low situation as you have backups you can go with. My airframes are starting to get to the pointy end of the stick in that I am...

Thanks guys. I never really understood what all this subscribiing to threads thing was about. Over on the other place, I just hung out in the 3d flying thread and everything was in there and every new post brought each thread to the top of the page. I'll take a look at your suggestions...

    The 3DRCForums -Discuss Anything Thread-

Guys, is there anyway to get a few more of these threads onto the one page. I'm transitioning across from RCG (had enough of getting warnings and points awarded against me) and I am finding the multiple categories and sub forums, although very neat, tends to make this forum feel a little...

Get some good servos mate. These 60" EXP planes really like a good servo. The HS5245 from Hitec are borderline on the ailerons but great every where else. I have HS7245 set to 8V in my edge and extra now and they are great. Still got a bit of blow back on aileron if I tried for anything over...

Thanks for the update Wamsy, seems like the 4330-400 has heaps of grunt.

I might have missed it, but what airframe is your Yak? My suggestions for KE ease is get you CG right for level upright and inverted flight then mix with the radio for hands off KE flight. If you find you need more then 10-15% rudder to elevator then something is not right. I sold my...

Nice flying Wamsy, by the way what motor and kv did you end up settling on? I think you gave the hacker A60-6XS a try as well didn't you? Get well soon Gary, having the flu of any sort kinda sucks.

You got some KE mixing programmed in yet mate for the Yak? They all need a bit of rudder to elevator and maybe even rudder to aileron as Yaks are notorious for coupling, but damn they make sweet flyers. Can't wait for the ef 91" yak54. I'm not sure if I'll go the 91" extra or the yak...

I think he means 'flying the SNOT' out of it Gary!! If you ain't busting stuff you ain't flying low enough I always tell the guys at the club. Of course I don't mean the usual shaky hand landing that most of our members excel at. I always hear them complaining almost daily about how hard...

    91" Extra 300-EXP ARF

That might be a hard stretch. I read the 91" comes in around 21-22# without fuel. That's a lot compared to the 88" extra which is closer to 17# without fuel on the DA50!

I hear you on that. I started writing sections of my clubs news letter each month about 3D, all the practice and skill sets etc to help try and educate the club guys that its not all about hovering and pop tops, tumbles etc..... Mostly I get acceptance but its a hard road to hoe!! Yep...

Hey feral, Just gotta organize something. I'm not sure though if the da team are that interested in 3D flying though as Richo refers to us non Imac guys as stick bashers.

Oh no! You fly PA planes!! yuk.... fI finally found a (sucker) nice guy to pay me $$ for my PA ADX... finally.... nice enough floaty plane but I really never clicked with it and got sick of hearing it crack every time I picked it up. If I had a trailer I'd have to either unload it every time or...

They have the 88" Edge as well but not the updated version with EXP stabs and SFG's which is why I'm waiting. Spoke with Mark just now and the edge main box is 176cm long, so it fits with the front seat moved only slightly forward. Yippy!!!!! Don't know how I'm gonna get the assembled 88"...
