    Neatest trick in the book ever... I cannot describe how smooth the balsa is after a liberal coat of this stuff , let dry overnight and hit lightly with 400 grit paper. No picture does it justice. An absolute recommendation for pre covering sanding... WOW...

    I really like the Dalotel, most people don't, something about it speaks to me, be a great scale project and have a feelin it'll be a fantistic flier, have considered getting a 50cc size a number of times. Like to try some pattern with it.

    Yikes, you'd have to be using like 3/8" hinge stock to get that over the hinge line !

    I wouldnt worry about the offset of the hinges, sounds like they were going for a very scale application, most full scale is not hinged exactly on center. And that would be a ton of work to re-do all the hinge stock. Your building for IMAC anyways and most ailerons only deflect 20-25° ...

    My carf extra is the same way, that top hinged system actually needss diferential in it, talks about it in the manual even, I think mine is set for -2° opposite to keep a roll from barrelling out.

    I believe, and please correct me if im wrong here, that not having the control horn exactly or as cllose to exactly over the hinge line creates differential, more up than down in throws, you can eliminate that with most radios by limiting the throws and adjusting end points, if your using...

    Im guessing zero instructions too, hit up terry Terryscustom , he has a pretty slick way of setting those, you sandwich materials and drop it in one piece.

    When I get to the shop ill see if I have some left to send a pic. Use 2 blocks epoxied together, vaseline on the horn stock to make sure they are aligned when gluing together so epoxy wont stick... ask me how I learned that one lol.

    Robarts are super simple, and your right it has to be dead on flush and level to pull it off right, s' why I went with robarts, maybe next time when im a lil braver.

    Made a reverse template of the block , taped to the sheeting and carved out the foam and balsa with a router for depth, then a dremmel for shape and a hot wire to clean it all up nice, glued with gorilla and no water, dont forget to tape or 1/32" balsa on bottom of blocks before gluing so it...

    Dubro flat with piano wire running entire length . I used robart, much easier for me to install, but when dave ( dwdixon) put his in.. I was jealous. Much tighter tolerances.and the wire fills the gap, zero sealing to surcaces . Were building in same shop, theres ALOT to be jealous of on that...

    Thank you, I hope I can finish it as nicely as its started. The horns for ailerons and elevators are from JTEC, and the rudder horn I built myself from carbon and fiberglass sandwich stock.

    I've been working on mine 13 months now, ya know, I dont think id want to fly or buy a plane that was turned out in a short time, professional builders excluded from that comment, every thing ive rushed through in it, I wasnt happy with. Like to see that bird finished Jet.
