When I did the canopy for my Trex550e I sprayed it silver first, masked off everything I wanted to stay silver, and and used those lines as the edge for several other colors.

You could cover the area in question with 2" masking tape, then draw your pattern and cut it with an Xacto. I did that with the checkers on the cowl on mine. I painted it white first than masked, drew and cut out the checkers. But that would depend on weather or not you paint the silver or use...

It depends. Are you painting the silver pinstripe or using tape? If your painting it than I would spray some silver in the area where the stripe goes, then after it dries lay fine lines tape over the area you want to stay silver then spray white. You can spray the whole cowl white since red...

Spraying primer in the mold before laying down the glass seems to cut down the pinholes quite a bit, but I am no expert on moulding glass parts. I have painted a lot of fiberglass cowls and fuselages and the pinholes here seem quite excessive, but are certainly doable.

Any good bodyshop supplier will have some type of pourable two part glaze. Scuff up your primer with 400 or so, not enough to remove much primer, just enough to give the filler some bite. Then go over all the pinholes with your filler trying to press it into the holes, but not build up much on...

They're not fisheyes they're pinholes in the fiberglass. You will need to fill them in with something. My preference is a product called Dolphin Glaze. It's a thin two part polyester glaze. You could use a lacquer based spot putty which is a tad easier to use, but the two part holds up better.

I did some painting on the dummy radial today. I think it turned out looking pretty good. It's just taped into the cowl right now, hopefully I'll get it final fit and glued in tomorrow.
