    Actually will have to lower him about 1/2" and moved him rearward about 2". He fills that little canopy.....but maybe enough room for a small bottle of Cap't Morgan ;)

    Looks like you got your answer already. Yes, stitching on ribs is to keep the fabric from lifting during low pressure gradients and thus changing the airfoil shape. Not an issue on the tips.

    Cool! After you finish with this experiment you'll have to try the "offset" hinging like we talked about. This is the Sukhoi pic where you can see through the gap on the left wing with the aileron up. And the down aileron on the right wing clearly shows its leading edge protruding well above...

    If it's finished anything like the fabric covered planes I've had, you won't see any weave in the fabric, only the pinking and stitches. That's on ceconite as well as grade A cotton with Randolph butyrate dope finishes. Very smooth and shiny! I have seen some finishes on a few unlimited...

    I've given up on anything but solid color pants. With the beating they take just makes it so much easier to freshen up after the inevitable repairs. I even carry an extra set in the trailer just in case :(

    Ahhh.....yes they are taped on the stab LE's. I thought you were going to do the wings as well. Guess I should have paid more attention! Carry on....:cheers:

    Matt....please don't take the tape around the leading edges, as it's not done on the full scale. The LE's are usually aluminum with the tape and stitching starting at the front spar and going back.
