    IMAC JTEC 2.7m Extra 300CS

The left side cutout of the turtle deck was a bit better than the right. Have some waves to fill. Also, remember that measure twice cut once adage? Well, apparently I didn't follow and failed to notice that adding a 1/2" to the TE of the vertical fin might not be included in the turtle deck...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

So I am super stoked! The new baffling worked great! :fist_pump:Snuck out for noon fly (actually, three of them) of the EF 78 Extra with the VVRC 40. Peak temps on really long uplines were 302F with ambient of 87F (first flight was 298 peak). Normal flying ranged from 241-274F. Landing approach...

With no baffling, yes. Also, had problems getting jetting correct and cylinders running very uneven. Originally, I just directed the flow over the cylinders and then they ran even and was able to reliably jet it. On long uplines, it does get warm however. Gettng in-air temps climbing up to...

I got a little further on the baffling on the EF 78 and VVRC 40. Not the prettiest work, but only adds about 0.5 oz. We'll see how they hold up. Need to finish up the cowl baffle (which will inlcude the baffling underneath the cylinders), then some testing!

Rpeplacing the cowl on my EF 78" extra so I figured I would try some different baffling methods on the VVRC 40. Have some pretty good history on temps from the telemetry, want to see how it changes. Started mocking some ideas up.

Welcome! Think you will find this site suits you quite well. Lots of build threads and folks that dabble in a bit of everything. Goodluck with IMAC! I am building a 35% Extra for a future IMAC myself.

    Quadcopter recommendation for work needed

OK. Sorry if this is the wrong location (or even the wrong site) but my company (an irrigation district - supplies water for crops and drinking water) is looking to get a quadcopter to document pre-construction (and post) project conditions, provide footage to our Board, and perform general...

    PAU Owners Thread

The VVRC 40 will still be available. Spoke with Tom, they have found a new manufacturer for the cranks. He has a lot of back orders. Expect it should be back up when they get enough stock back in and engines assembled ready to go.
