    Wind Correction Recommendations

OK! I think I understand now. For all intent and purpose, I can assume that all maneuvers with no y-axis exits should occur in the x-z plane. The water is getting clearer! Look forward to implementing some flat turn practice sessions! Thank you!!!

    Wind Correction Recommendations

Great info here! So I get the skidding (yawing) portion and assuming the across the box is the x axis, the elevation is the z-axis and let's say then the y-axis is the distance horizontally from the nut behind the sticks (away from you or closer to you), is there a penalty for turn around...

    Wind Correction Recommendations

Was out practicing the basic IMAC sequences and had a decent crosswind. On a vertical upline one has to crab the fuse to keep the plane tracking straight up. So here is my problem, and hoping I can get some recommendations. When you reach a point when it is time to make a direction change, say a...

    IMAC JTEC 2.7m Extra 300CS

Elevators: To ensure the elevators get cut correctly (and perpendicular to the centerline of the fuse) I used a 4' straight edge centered and measured to a point at the centerline of of F1. During the process, I realized that the 6-32 screws to hold on the stabs were a wee bit too small and...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Did you cut out all the parts by hand, or did you scalp some parts from another kit and adjust the fuse and size of elevator and rudder? More to the point, fuse parts and ribs CNC or laser cut?

    ES composite pipes

Ha! You are right on target! Here it is being used today on a 350cc outboard racing engine! LOL These expansion chambers have VERY Narrow power bands that require sliding. Pipes back = 10,000 RPM Pipes up = 14,000 RPM.

    ES composite pipes

This response will be in generalities: It depends. Most expansion chambers have a usable RPM band in which they increase power. How wide that band is depends on the design of the pipe and how it works with the geometry and design of the engine. Because an expansion chamber is tuned on exhaust...
