Scale 20cc DHC-2 "Beaver" Kit Build from Moustache Model Works

I am absolutely failing tonight. Having a heck of a time trying to cover my wingtip. Tried about five times and although getting better, it’s not good enough. This rounded fiberglass tip and deep blue ultracote sticks very well and doesnt want to erase the wrinkles. Any tips? I’ve been sealing...

Floats... eventually. I'm debating whether to put it on wheels first to get it up in the air and build the floats later.

Scale 20cc DHC-2 "Beaver" Kit Build from Moustache Model Works

The manual mentioned using double back tape for the tail cones. I had some 3M 950 1/2” tape and decided to give it a try. This would make accessing the elevator and rudder linkages possible in the future... seems to work well and is holding great.

Scale 20cc DHC-2 "Beaver" Kit Build from Moustache Model Works

Installed the sea fins. Not sure what size screws I was supposed to use, but but I ended up having to file the heads down a little bit for some extra clearance.

Discussion The I’m Going/Went Flying Thread

had a busy week. Flew off floats one morning. I love this little Tom Herr design “dragon” flying boat. Just a real joy to fly off glassy water. Water turned super calm and I went home to find baby and my wife still snoozing so I loaded up the TBM and flew a few more flights. Super fun...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

I’m using a Futaba 18SZ. Trying to figure which receiver to use. In my mini dart I got a FrSky 4ch Rx I liked the idea of using a 2S battery and a tiny voltage regulator. Just for consistent voltage for the Rx as a 1S is operating at the Rx min voltage. Wouldn’t want any voltage sag.

nice, thanks. There really isn’t a perfect world when it comes to DLG pods. Always crammed. What power source are you using?

@Snoopy1 and I found put that going past 5.25” the plane doesn’t handle well. Post stall is not that good, and just a tad more touchy. FWIW 5-5.125” is ideal. With fuel it doesn’t change much if your fuel tank is backed up near the rudder servo.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

Ive heard the CG on the Flitz2 can make a huge difference. 68mm is preferred I guess. Page 55 or 59 on RCG has a bunch of photos of pod layouts on the flitz2. It all depends on the battery choice. I’m considering the side by side and canted a bit using a couple triangle shims. This will get...
