Scale RCM 1/3 Scale Champ Build

Man... that maiden reminds me of my H9 15cc Carbon Cub... The manual led me astray with 2" aft of the actual CG range against my better judgement of eye balling the CG near the center of lift... I trusted it... turns out they amended the manual without my prior knowledge. Read my post #35-36...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

It must be a Father’s Day miracle. Mamma came home from night shift, baby and mamma down for a nap - I installed the wing servos in the Flitz2 as about happy as I could get. I learned that you can used a Trim1/2 feature in the Futaba 18SZ that is not the same as using an offset mix that was...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Spent quite a few hours attempting to achieve sweet geometric bliss with the Flitz2 ailerons and pod configurations. I have never been so frustrated and defeated in programing and geometry that I must retire to bed at 1am. Basically it's hard to get the ailerons/flaperons to do exactly what I...

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

Not sure, all I could find was my post about shortening the rods and posting the distance with a ruler... BUT that doesn't help you too much as I have different tires. I could measure the distance to the axel from the frame for you. I'm kinda surprised I haven't seen anyone use some carbon gear...

Nice work on the RX, I thought about it as well. The constraint is the width of my receiver. unfortunately Futaba is lacking in small 4ch full range telemetry receivers that can operate on lower voltage. I really want to have the voltage telemetry on my 1S battery and I have a bunch of R7008SB...

@BalsaDust you’ve inspired me through my inspiration that inspired you to rethink what I had previously thunk. ROFL!! I think I’d rather use tungsten putty than that 1k LiPo so I can get the throws. Measured 8mm total throws at 140% travel from the servo arm verses 6mm at 100%. With the arm...

Nice! I was planning on the canted servo install, but it forced me to put the rx in the back and limited my battery size install. The Flitz2 tends to come out a bit tail heavy in the 75mm range from what I've been reading (should fly best at 68-70 depending on wind), and the Original Flitz has a...

    H9 15cc Carbon Cub

We do love pictures! I'm not sure I follow what you are asking? This is a thread specifically for the Hangar 9 15cc Carbon Cub. MAN & Year? Not sure what you mean? Thanks!

Scale Wendell Hostetler 30% PA-28 Cherokee Build

What a beautiful story and airplane - with a tragic ending though. That is zero fun right there. Sorry man.

seems what I’ve been reading is to get to 68-70mm CG people are adding a bit of weight in the nose. With this setup I can use either battery. the MKS 75s are quiet as a mouse.

too tight. You need a little gap to install ballast and the criss cross would get in the way.

Haven’t forgotten about the Super Otter. In fact, I have been expanding my CAD skills and created some semi-scale struts. And they turned out ok! Going to print the other struts which hopefully turn out ok as well.

Been scratching my head to try and get the best pod setup for my flitz2. Man every decision was a compromise, so I ended up side by side which allowed a larger 1000mAh 1S battery with the option of a smaller 650 1S and the Rx up front sitting on top of the battery. The compromise is there is...

DISCONTINUED :cryin: I've looked on Tower Hobbies and Horizon hobby and the plane is no longer available and shows as discontinued. :( The Timber 110" line has apparently ended unless something online is wrong. The Prototypes were at Joe Nall Sept 2018 Release date with promotional video May...

I think there is enough lifting surface on the Slats to provide a little extra wing area, so I'd imagine it cannot hurt. I haven't found of a way that would make them removable without destroying the slat in the process. I was thinking of just ordering them, but at $80 for the pair... forget that!

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

I keep looking at my slats. They weren't built very well - one is good enough to throw on, but the other one has a nasty step in the balsa, a crack, and a broken attach point. . . I dont really want to recover, also no sure why there appears to be no LE airfoil on them... dunno, but it does make...

Interesting! It's like they dropped the floor 1/2". I had Ali ask me about some issues I was having being one of the earlier designs and he said he was trying to fix them at the factory. Nice to see that they keep improving the design. I did notice you're flying the LE devices and I'm not yet -...

    Prop balancing

I would! Need to be careful with the painted carbon props - as they are messy with the paint and get buildup within the center hub that would throw your balance off.

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

Well I did go flying! For about 7-8min before a rain cloud came and ruined my session. It was unfortunate as my truck was a little trek away. My poor Timber got drenched before I got it in the back of the truck... really wish the wings popped on and off like a SkyWing plane. Here’s the...

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

Got ready to go flying and ended up having to do some maintenance. New choke rod, and my lower ply engine mount seam was popped. Mixed up some epoxy and added some tri-stock.
