The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

My finger tips were in pain from an Allen wrench… then I remembered I got this dremel tool a a few months ago… and I’m started to like it a lot for small screws/little jobs. pressure sensitive. So when you push down it will go in the direction you have it set in. Or just push the button it...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Another big milestone. Finally figured out all my geometry and screwed down the float fittings. I’ll need to take them off to install the wheel collars. Only thing I’m not liking is my CG is a little close to the skeg… well and that empty (no battery, water rudder stuff and esc) the plane is 7.75#

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

Did any of this come to fruition? Keep thinking about starting this one up. Need to finish my two float planes though!! Then start this… and a couple others…

Made some front float bumpers out of EVA craft foam and CA for the super otter. Cut with an knife, sanded 100, 220, 400. Think they turned out not too shabby!

Scale 20cc DHC-2 "Beaver" Kit Build from Moustache Model Works

My decal dilemma was solved by inquiring a quote from Callie Graphics. Guess what showed up! Callie Graphics nailed it! Super impressed. I asked for two logos and two pairs of separate N#’s; gave them some size restrictions, scale pics, and the model scale. I take pride in using my...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Been working on my super otter a bit as well. I finished making my designed and 3D printed strut covers that snap onto the wire gear, glued them in place, sanded, and painted a second time. Now I’m finishing the mounting blocks. I’ll be one happy camper once the float fitment process is done…

Discussion The I’m Going/Went Flying Thread

Got a chance to fly in some better conditions with the Alula and Ahi. Was able to fly inverted a bit, did some rolls, and a few wing overs.

Scale 20cc DHC-2 "Beaver" Kit Build from Moustache Model Works

Been getting some more tinker time on this bird. Worked on the aileron horns. There was a discrepancy in the plans for too small aileron horn blocks. So if your going to use the supplied horns - be smarter than me and make sure the blocks are big enough for them. Decided to make some horns from...

New Product Dancing Wings 30cc Savage Bobber

How "savage" of you :LOL_gif: The bobber is a neat concept, but I can only imagine the rc version with a welded frame to be on the heavier side. I remember the Got Rocks experimental Super Cub with an open fuselage.

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

It only took a month... but I have another video of the 110" Timber flying off those river rocks I posted earlier. I'd say the plane/tires handled the terrain better than I thought!

    Yippee! What the postman brought

You and me both!! I wanted a 3Blade Prop for my DHC-2 and a DLE20 with a 2.25" Spinner. After figuring out their file was bad, I sent them my prop (15x7x3) and they custom cut and sent back. Wendy was a pleasure to communicate with at Tru-Turn/ROMCO

Discussion The I’m Going/Went Flying Thread

Wowza. Burned up that four leaf clover! I had a similar experience with an old seagull Edge 540 with an OS120 and a 6 cell NiMH with an onboard battery checker. The Battery checker was set to 4.8v not 6V (whoops!!) I was flying and said something isn't right, set up a quick landing, on approach...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Just need to know where to shop for batteries! I've been liking China Hobby Line (CHL). I enjoy my 6S quite a bit, but after having a few cells go bad here and there ($$) I've been way more diligent with putting them back to storage and checking the IR from time to time.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Yeah, the price increase is no joke. Most expensive floats I have ever owned... But they perform great! I could have repaired the floats, but it would have taken so much time with the busted/rotted ply on the inside I decided it wasn't worth the effort and have other projects I'd rather work on...

Thanks guys! It truly is a wonderful plane to have in the fleet. It's a fabulous float plane too. I do not like how stiff the landing gear is and have been pondering re-making a few things to giving it some more spring. Half the fun is greasing landings, but when it skips and squeaks on rough...

    89" SkyWing Laser 260 V2 Assembly Thread

For Sure. My flying site times are limited due to tourist season, bad weather, and watching my little one... So tackling one step at a time is more fruitful and enjoyable. I do feel that the throttle is more linear now and was a huge step in the right direction. I'm going to preset some KE...
