The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

They are Prototypes, I think the 6S electric will be on the market first to gauge product demand... so you cannot buy it quite yet. Everyone has been pleading Extreme Flight to create an aerobatic bipe... finally the wait is almost over.

Thanks. My wife of all people bought me the shiny orange filament all by herself as a Christmas present for me. Pretty pleased with how it prints and turns out. Could make one smaller. Never done this before so I started with an easy/long transition. The first 20mm is pretty much flat just to...

I'm working on a version two right now. Small tweaks. In this pic you can see what I basically drew up. Small dimensional tweaks and large blends (bridging). I can make a schematic of the needed dimensions and draw one up. This takes 5 hours to print with 15% infill 0.2 layer height (rough).

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Was having a heck of a time trying to replace my spot on RC tires that were worn out. I tried soap and soaking in hot water but it only make the tire softer and the sharp rim was cutting into the tire. Asked a social media platform and got answers like “Vaseline, soap, soak in hot water, just...

Then I painted the windows! Imagine that! Peeled off the tape while still tacky. Now to let that cure for a couple days.... then a little blue and a bit of black.

Scale 20cc DHC-2 "Beaver" Kit Build from Moustache Model Works

I’ve repainted the full scale tail cone in these colors, and I remember using a laser to help keep the lines strait. I didn’t want to go full blown perfectionist, so I used blue masking tape. Made the lines strait to the tail and crossed in the middle. Then masked off the ends so they were about...

Cut out the exhaust to the edge so I can eventually glue the dummy radial to the cowl. Surface prepped the cowl for paint!

Needed a bit of relief for the side of the muffler in the cowl. Then mocked up the dummy radial again. It just occurred to me if I want the dummy cowl mounted to the engine I’m going to have to make a opening all the way to the edge for the exhaust in order to make it work. Hmmm. I don’t...

Trimming the cowl up with the DLE20. Nothing too exciting here, made a nice cutout for the plug and marked where the cap rubs. If I secure the ignition lead off to the side I don’t have to cut anything. Not quite sure which way I want to go.

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

Good work on the gear, that should work. I know there is about 914 posts and 92 pages to find it, but I did open up the strut mounts in the wing. The little square hole on top will give you the access. I put some epoxy and tri stock in there along with a new T-Nut.

mounted the ignition module with dubro foam and velcro. Got the throttle linkage on. Note a dab of medium CA on the nut. Put the fuel tank in. Using a 8oz V2 fortitude tank. Not quite sure where my fill line will go, so I just coiled it up for now.

Scale 20cc DHC-2 "Beaver" Kit Build from Moustache Model Works

Finally reached a point in the build where I felt it was time to install the engine! Used a nylon clevis and a ball link for the choke. throttle arm was from stuff I had lying around with 2mm ball links. VVRC extended throttle carb arm. Put a piece of Viton fuel tubing on. then with a...
