    64" mxs exp

I too love that scheme and will get that as well on the 78" MXS whenever it comes. You can see my old 48" I sold to dth7 in my avatar. I am going to hold out for the Laser in this size though.

3DHS Fly Low In (East) July 11,12,13,14 Washington, New Jersey 6th Annual

Here is a sample of what my camera setup is capable of. I will get more practice in shooting RC planes. If dth7 helps me we should be able to get the highlights if Glenn gives us a good place to shoot from. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62B74WkOmcs

    Extreme Flight Owners Thread

Since I don't have any 6S 3300s anymore, doing the electric would be not much cheaper. I might have skipped the Hyde mount and rigged it so I could use the torpedo muffler that came with it which would have brought the price down. I have hope that the 15cc will be a good performer and flight...

Here is my cost comparison for 60" versus 70". I will stick to EF stuff. Most of this type stuff I get from tower and use their coupons which average 15% off, so prices reflect that. RX and misc cost like spinners and props are close, although the 70" is more. 60" EXP combo $430 4x 7245 $216...

    Extreme Flight Owners Thread

Having owned most all of these sizes of airplanes I personally think the 30cc class is the best compromise. The 60" size requires the same cost in servos (7245s) and almost the same in power system. The cost of the airframe and transport are the main down sides, but you get a 10-11 lb plane...

    10cc 3D gasser --- An exercise with a VH Sabre-X 51" and a Evolution 10GX

Sorry for no update in a while as there has been nothing to report. The muffler repairs took a lot of time and in the end did not work. I got a few flights today on it with the new servos and the engine kept running inconsistently. Turns out the muffler was making it's way loose again. I...

3DHS Fly Low In (East) July 11,12,13,14 Washington, New Jersey 6th Annual

I am planning on coming in Thursday as early as I can stand to leave and make the drive. Already booked the Comfort Inn. Not much of a camper unless a RV comes available. Also the late night antics are past my bedtime. I hope I can get a spot near the one I had last year.

Hopefully you can bring it to Vermont the next weekend. If you end up missing any parts, I have a plethora of gasser bits in my shop at your disposal.

3DHS Fly Low In (East) July 11,12,13,14 Washington, New Jersey 6th Annual

I have a nice video camera rig (Panasonic AC90 with tripod, 1080p) and since I will not be in the competition I can be convinced in videoing it. Editing however might not be the fastest thing in the world. I need to practice filming with Cody and the McCormacks some more and sadly it competes...

3DHS Fly Low In (East) July 11,12,13,14 Washington, New Jersey 6th Annual

Just booked the Comfort Inn in Hackettstown. It is the closest decent hotel. Last time I stayed in Budd Lake and got tired of the drive.

Today the same guy dth7 is referring to tried my Falcon 20x7 on his DLE-35 with ES pipe and got 8260 RPM. The speadsheet says 22 lbs of effective thrust or 4hp. I would assume the GT33 puts out similar power. I love the throttle response on the GT33 over any other gasser I have (except maybe...

3DHS Fly Low In (East) July 11,12,13,14 Washington, New Jersey 6th Annual

Just got back from Nall. Very nice in the 3D area and the pilots were really bringing it. I would have been pretty intimidated by some of the things going on when the pilots started going at each other if I had been able to bring planes. Apparently early in the week they came down on the 3D...

    60" Laser-EXP

I got to see both schemes in person at Nall. The yellow is smoking nice now that I see it in person. It is cub yellow I think. The fuse is large compared to the MXS that was parked next to it in the EF tent and cowling is huge with those cheeks. Did not get to see it fly though as we were to...

3DHS Fly Low In (East) July 11,12,13,14 Washington, New Jersey 6th Annual

I have the light kit on my Crack Yak for true night flying. Flying under the lights though makes using the lights a little redundant.

    60" Laser-EXP

Hopefully I will finally see a DA-35 in action as we are going to Nall in the AM. My Mintor 38 is slighly more powerful than my GT33s (stock) and it only gets about 20 lbs of thrust. In order to get the thrust needed to get 2:1, it will probably have to spin a 21" prop.

    3dhs 92" edge 540 !!!

something like 10.75" across. It fits in all 3 of the EF planes (88 edge, 91 extra, and 91 yak). The edge cowling is bigger than the extra actually. I don't think the 89 slick will work either without cutting out holes for the caps. If it does fit, it will be just barely.

    3dhs 92" edge 540 !!!

It is unfortunate that the DA-70 does not fit. I was at WRAM show when the Smiths went over to DA and did the measurements. You can always just expose the plug caps. You would get the smoothness and low end torque of the twins. There is a rumor that EF will have one hung on a 91" Extra at Nall.

    78'' Extra

I like pitch authority. The 70 lacks it. It however tracks very well and has great roll and rudder authority. I tend to fly it more like a pattern plane. It hovers very very well and is very graceful. Also the scheme rocks. I am going to attempt to do a theme scheme at some point.

I played with my GT33 and flipping and it started backwards yesterday 2 different times, but then started forward as soon as killed the ignition and flipped it again. Did not get the 60 out though. I will try the backward flip deal. I assume you did them ignition off. The GT22 should go onto the...
