    EF 48" Laser EXP

Just as I read that, I opened my mail and there was a $250 pre-loaded gift debit card from Verizon in one of the envelopes (not entirely sure why, but I don't care). If that's not God trying to tell me something, I don't know what is... :)

    EF 48" Laser EXP

Well, with a wife, 5-year-old twins and a set of in-laws to house and feed, the big gasser projects will have to wait in my case. For where I am in my learning process, the Sabre X is a perfect 3D trainer for me. But... It's a bit slow and doesn't do the really crazy stuff. You have to have some...

    EF 48" Laser EXP

That's what I have in my Sabre X and it's been performing very well so far. I'm pulling about 900W on a 13x6.5 and the motor is just slightly warm when it comes down. Great value, as usual when you deal with HeadsUp. Jeff at HeadsUp seems to err on the side of caution when it comes to wattage...

    EF 48" Laser EXP

Looking very closely at the laser right now... I wonder how it would do with a FirePower 30 Sport from HeadsUpRC? Only a couple of grams heavier than the Torque, but good for 630W with an 11x5.5.

What models in Phoenix do you use for 3D practice?

I'm using the Max3D when I want something that's as docile on the low and slow as my Sabre X and the DA Extra when I want something a bit more advanced. Any good custom models I should know about?

    Lights in my Sabre X

Cool! Either that or even the smaller "Genesis" may work. Very cool! Thanks!

    Lights in my Sabre X

Thanks! I May try that. Maybe just mount three spots between the wings pointing sideways and backwards. That ought to do it...

    3DHobbyShop 51" AJ Slick

So you finally managed to get a Slick shipped to Scotland? I'm really interested in knowing what you think. (And now I really have to get one too... :))

I'll definitely get the 51". It's just that my cheapness is worse than usual right now after having spent money on family vacation etc... But I will get one so I can play with you cool kids.

Please stop raving about the Slick! I'm using every last bit of willpower to keep myself from buying one...

    Lights in my Sabre X

Other than being a great plane for low and slow flying, the Sabre X features red transparent covering for the entire fuse and wings. I'm tempted to install a lighting system that takes advantage of that. The problem is I have zero experience with lights on RC planes. I'd like to cut as little...

    New Here? Introduce yourself!

Today I'm on sunny beautiful Jersey shore. As if that wasn't enough, a B17 just made a low fly-over. Life is good!

The New Sport Pilot's Guide To 3D

Great post! My problem right now is that my current favorite plane (Sabre X) is almost too easy to harrier. I mean, I just give 3/4 up elevator, dial in the throttle sweet spot and fly around. Sure, I need to do opposite aileron and some throttle modulation in the turns, but it's still pretty...

    New Here? Introduce yourself!

Hi! As the name suggests, I'm a Swede who lives in the green pastures New Jersey, USA. A three year work assignment ended up being 11 years and counting thanks to the wonderful woman who became my wife. I got into RC late 2010 and have gone from trainers, via sport planes to 3D planes. I've...

    Valuehobby Saber X 51

Well, all I can say is that it's a nearly perfect plane for me. I started 3D-ing this season and I'm still working on the basic skills. The Sabre X has an absolutely rock solid harrier at virtually any alpha, so it's the perfect plane for me to perfect the basic stuff, such as low harrier figure...
