91" SkyWing ARS 300 Assembly Thread
After 15 flights: The motor is still breaking in. The canopy has a little play in it side to side. But not up and down whatsoever. I wished they used Kevlar or even fiberglass at these areas as it’s doesn’t wear like carbon does. The magnetic fuel dot from NWRC has popped out 75% of the flights...- AKNick

Flew a couple flights. Did KE mixing. Never tried that before! Rudder to Aileron was about 12, Rudder yo Elevator was about 2. Top wing was barely rotating to the gear, and coupling to the gear. More wing building. Pretty strait forward. Once again use the plans to keep the wing strait, and use the other wing plan as a reference where everything goes. BalsaDust is spot on. Humidity changes. There is different type of paper out there that is less prone to this. I forget the name of it, but it’s slightly transparent too... and more expensive. It’s a little hard to move your mindset when building to trust the wood. But that’s what one has to...- AKNick

Working on the wing. Not sure why, but building over these plans kinda bother me because the variances in accuracy over the laser cut wood. David mentions this in his manual. So you use the plans as a guide and trust the wood. I’m not used to this. There are steps in the manual with pictures...- AKNick
