Even onto the snow bank!?!? LOL - Thanks buddy!

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I concur!!! Only thing I'd want to attempt differently may be air foiling the tail for fun. But not necessary.

Discussion The I’m Going/Went Flying Thread

Some people love electric in this size though! But once that engine is tuned, five back to back 14min flights is great. If you were to do that with electrons.... lets see 2 6S in series 3300-4000mah and $100USD each x five.... is $1000USD... so if that is the cost to fly and the total cost a...

I wouldn't go electric. I love the flight times of gas. My 75" edge was electric, I vaporized a bullet connector, and the flight times were 4min... Just too much hassle to charge and invest in LiPos. So it's switching to gas as well. I use a lot of throttle :)

Finally uploaded another video with the 84” TBM on skis. Wish I was able to try them out on some better snow. They are loud on ice!

    Scale The Red Eagle rebooted

HA HA HA HA HA. If I only knew now what I posted then. I meant POST deleted!!!! I'll be praying for you and your wife buddy. My wife is a nurse in Critical Care, and I'm a line aircraft mechanic for Alaska, with a 5mo old... stressful times indeed.

    GP-38 cc

So far my GP76 (two 38cc cylinders) has been flawless, but very little flight time on it.

    Skywing 91" Edge 540 V2 Assembly Thread

This is what I did on the ARS. Opted for 4-40 or M3 with blind nuts as well for the ignition mount. The caps had plenty of clearance.

Discussion The I’m Going/Went Flying Thread

I can’t believe it. I just went flying... fun, 30min of flight time logged. Flew the 73” laser. I could have rammed shopping carts at the store like a Viking.... but this has renewed my soul. My thumbs have stopped quivering from RC winter non flying detox. Tomorrow may even be another fun...

One thing to look over is the ply/carbon laminate, I had a few spots where the thin carbon was delaminating/bubbling up off the ply. It's hard to find, but worth checking out. I believe there was a couple spots on the wing root on mine. I love the pin setup! Crazy easy. No more twisting nylon...

    5 Cylinder radial glow driver

Seems you'd need a DC-DC Step Down Regulator. The only issue I see is most regulators like that don't require a demand like a glow plug would around 3A (ie: MIC49500-1.2WR). There should be plenty of sources for step down regulators, but that low of voltage will be hard. Time to convert that...

    Skywing 91" Edge 540 V2 Assembly Thread

I've been the same way as you. However, with the GP76 up front, it's probably a good idea to stick that servo in the tail for CG. That's what I did with my ARS, could be different with this one?

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Did not know about the magic 7 degrees. I may end up re drawing it again. The gray one I used initially worked great. Just needed a bigger tire. Thanks

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I’ve been tinkering with my 3” tailwheel design. Bringing the wheel closer to the pivot point to help with some geometry issues. It’s taking a lot of torque to move it, thus not responsive. For me it’s been very challenging to modify a design at large like that. It would be way cleaner if I’d...

    Skywing 91" Edge 540 V2 Assembly Thread

Is this in reference to just the ARS or the Edge, or all? I really haven't had enough flights to even fine tune my ARS yet. I don't have the Edge.
