The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Thanks! I'll admit, for me anyway, I do think about the fact that I'm controlling something that can lop my head off if I don't keep my mind on what I'm doing.

Thanks Mike! The shape of the Goblin canopy isn't the greatest for reflecting light unless it's upside down. The area at the top that sticks out to cover the servos shadows the rest of it when your right side up. I guess the answer is just to fly upside down all the time. ;)

After flying my Goblin again I decided even after adding the green, pearl yellow and silver to the canopy in was still pretty hard to see. So, I painted the boom and lower section of the canopy bright yellow as well as changed the silver to yellow. I can't say I'm in love with the scheme, but It...

    Field Equipment: Battery Chargers

I saw one of the guys at our field fry a balance connector by plugging the balance connectors to the parallel board before the mains on a set of 6S 5300's. To much imbalance for the tiny wire.

    Field Equipment: Battery Chargers

I've been having the same thought, so I charge in singles when time isn't an issue. Since i"m flying a Trex 550 and a Goblin 570 I only need one battery at a time anyway.

Beginner Giant Scale RC Questions, Let's hear them

Where I live there really isn't any choice. There is Ethanol in all the fuel around where I live. I doubt the average guy could tell much of a performance difference.

    Field Equipment: Battery Chargers

The PowerLab 6 and 8 are both nice. I bought an 8 because when I went to buy a PL6 and some power supplies last year the guy was out of 6'S as was FMA, so I bought the PL8 instead because I'm too impatient to wait. I doubt I will ever out grow it.

    Field Equipment: Battery Chargers

One of my friends that's doing some beta testing has a dual PL8 and his power supplies under the deck and also has the Bump Controller flush mounted in the deck. It's a pretty clean setup.

    Field Equipment: Battery Chargers

Nice setups guys! Here is my setup with a PowerLab 8. One more thing for you other guys using PowerLabs. By the end of the year they will have an ad on available called a Bump Controller. It's a really cool separate touch screen controller that also has Bluetooth capabilities. It plugs...

    Canopy Refurbishment/Repair

You can polish them with rubbing compound, but if it's to bad you can clearcoat it. Terry has had some good info on tinting and clearing canopies in past threads.

    New airplane hauler

The Stow-N -Go seats in the newer Caravans and Town & Country's are a great feature. Flat floor when you need it or just pop up the seats for passengers.

That sounds like a good place to start if it quit in an up line. I'm guessing since you were about to do a Pop Top that it was wide open at the time?

That answers my next question, Thanks. I'm in dire need of new blades for mine. I think they're several decades old.
