Took a short break from building on the Pitts today to go out and spot my friend Tom. He maidened his new 107" Pilot RC Super Decathon. He put his Saito 57cc gas twin on it and man what a nice flying plane. I am thinking now that maybe I need one after all. LOL. And the new H-9 Pitts, and the...

    Ignition Wiring

Smart-Fly is all I have ever used and all I will ever use. I have never experienced a single failure in all the planes I have installed them in in the last upteen years. You can plug an RCExel Opto-Kill straight into your receiver and thereby eliminating the need for an extra ignition battery...

Well here is my progress for this afternoon. I did take a short break to go out and spot my friend Tom with his new Pilot RC Decathlon. Yes, he now has two. The first one....with the Valach flies so well, he just had to have another. This one is kind of small though. 107". He put his Saito 57...

Ah yes..... Jordan Valley. Been a while since I myself have been through there. I might have to take the drive just for the heck of it. Usually my trips to sun So. Cal. are by way of 93. I really like that drive. Lots and lots of open miles. Come on up any time. We can go blast some planes...

I'm really pleased with how the Pitts is coming out. I've almost convinced myself I may build another stick built plane. Al-most...!!! Lol With the fin dowels for the flying wires drilled, I guess I need to get the vertical fin sheeted. I now have the left and right side fin sheeting skins...

Just a little bit more accomplished tonight. I desperately wanted to get the fin finished up and the stab glued in place. So that is what I attacked this evening. First thing I did however was to make sure the resting structure for the stab was perfectly level. I most definitely do not want any...

Maybe not cheap...but quality stuff is very important to have. Especially for that awesome scratch build of yours. I really honestly am so excited to see it once it's all done. You gotta be just thrilled huh? Oh now wait just a darn minute. Only way I do specialized sanding is if there is a...

New Product Hangar 9 Model 12 Viking 120cc 89" ARF

Sure wish I had thought a little in advance on my Jtec Pitts build. I wanted to put balance tabs on the elevators and the rudder. Heck, it really aint too late I guess. LOL

I got in the mood for doing a little hinging and sanding this evening, so I figured the stabs and elevators would be on tap. I got the stabs and elevators drilled for the large Robart hinges. I like to counter sink the holes about 1/16" of an inch so that the hinges will give a more "sealed"...

Hey, that is awesome. The aluminum gear supplied with the plane only weighs 8.4 ounces, which is not bad at all. Saving a couple of ounces on the gear won't be that huge. But if I can save an ounce here, two ounces there...another few ounces over here...It will all add up right? Really though, I...

    RCGF 10cc gasser

Soooo!!!! Who wants to hear the "Rest of the Story"? As mentioned earlier, I planned to basically strip everything out and start over. Daymn...!!! I feel like a novice, beginner, newby. UGH. Yes, I have a resolution. PROBLEM SOLVED. Gads!!! So I found (4) points of potential metal to metal...

Couldn't resist. Weather is nice here today. And since the little trainer is now RCGF gasserized with a 10cc, I figured 4 plus years standing in the corner was long enough. I brought it out to put a few flights on it and just play around. The grandsons are going to be so excited.

Oh no doubt. What amazed me about the changes and how the hobby progresses is that planes are lighter and stronger. Electronics are more exotic and unique. Engines...wow, the engines are crazy cool. I remember when my friend first introduced me to what was then, basically G.S. He was running...
