Time for a little update. I finished up the top side of the bottom left wing last night. Then removed it from the jig. Double checked all my glue joints and test fit to the fuse. Quad's (4 holers) are the bomb. My sons 222 is freaking amazing. I'm seriously considering a new 40%'er for spring. Although I've had many 3w twins and a 3w 212, a guy just can't beat the price for a 222. And oh so correct. Pure music!- stangflyer

Not entirely accurate. The RCEXL Opto-Kill only does what they are told to do. They recieve the "on" and "off" signal from your reciever. There is no failsafe per sey, just has to have "on" power signal to allow voltage to be passed to the ignition module. And fact be known, they do not need an...- stangflyer

I did get started on the bottom right wing today. After a few drawbacks and a few phone calls, I finally got it figured out. There is one piece, (BR1B) that is inaccurately cut for the location it goes in. It turns out it is a doubler for the BR1 rib. So it had to be modified to fit correctly...- stangflyer

I did decide after all to get the cabane struts mounted on the Pitts tonight. I don't know why I put it off for so long. It turned out to be a fairly easy task. Initial shaping and sanding done. Looks pretty good. I do have some touch ups to do yet, but otherwise I am satisfied. Got the cabane plates epoxied and all joints a final go through. A little more accomplished today on the Pitts. The right side turtle deck sheeting went much quicker than the left side. After figuring out how to proceed, it went pretty smoothly.
