    Scale Don Smith P-51 Mustang

Dang, it's been awfully quiet around here lately. I'm beginning to get a little worried. It's not like our Behemoth P-51 builder to be absent for so long. I hope he's doing OK. . . . . :concern:

    Vintage Pattern fly in

Hey David, I saw this somewhere. I just wish it wasn't so far away. It would almost be worth the trip for a chance to win one of Leo's Bootleggers. . . . . . :yesss:

    Yippee! What the postman brought

I don't mind a little humming. At least I know they're working if they hum. Besides, they can't be as loud as my Futaba 9155's. . . . LOL

Hey @pawnshopmike, I am either going to be using MKS or Promodeler servos. I haven't made up my mind yet. According to the instruction manual I will need (8) 333oz servo's. I will not be doing 3D with this bird, so anything close to that will be fine. I don't use LiPo's in my gas planes, so...

Hey @dhal22, Nice looking Yak. . . . . :yesss:. You're not alone with your Yak procurement. I just bought a 35% Bill Hempel Yak55M second hand at a price I couldn't refuse. I am going to be playing postman and I am going to Greensboro on Tuesday of next week and pick it up. I am so excited...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

The 30 Saito probably will fly it, I had an 80" Dynaflight PT-19 I flew with a Saito 120 and it was plenty, but you're going to have to add a ton of lead to the nose to balance it if you run an engine that small. Of course, the 36 isn't that much larger.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

Chris, I have a Saito 30 gas engine and it is typical Saito, very high quality. It has the approximate power of a Saito 150 glow, so it might be marginal in your 1/4 scale Nieuport. You may want to look into getting something a little bigger, like the Saito 36 gas.

Hey Chris, BUSA kits are a little quirky, but it's nothing you can't handle. Are you going to the Swap Meet in Newport News on Saturday? I'm not going to be able to go because of work. . . .

Yeah, you do know someone, but unfortunately its going to be quite a while before I get around to building a plane big enough to use my 3Dub 100. . . . . :(.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

    @Snoopy1 The 34mm bolt diameter fits 3Dub's. @WMcNabb You could always sell the DA and get a 3W110CS for your Beast. . . . . . . . :laughing:

    Yippee! What the postman brought

Thanks @Snoopy1, I am not going to build this plane as is because I do not want to have to deal with a 90" one piece wing. I also want to make the plane lighter. Since a friend of mine is gathering parts to make a CNC foam cutter, I may build foam wings instead of the built up wings. If I go...

Hey Rob, I was lucky when I found this kit and the price was right too, but as fate sometimes does it, I barely missed out on a 77" Weeks Solution X kit for $300 bucks this afternoon. Oh well, you can't win them all. Your Stang is looking AWESOME. Keep up the great work. Hey Wade, Thanks...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

Well Fellas, The USPS FINALLY decided to deliver the rest of my kit. . . . . . . . :brian-banana: So tell me, how many of you have built one of these? The newspaper in the box is dated 1995, so its at least 23 years old. From what my flying buddy tells me is that this is a FANTASTIC flying...
