    Hostetler Cessna 336 Skymaster

So, Century Jet is going to make a set of fixed nose gear for me at a much lower price than Sierra was wanting. I ended up canceling my order with Precision Cut Kits. They were not able to cut the kit in the time frame they said they would. If they give me my deposit back, I'll still...

    Hostetler Cessna 336 Skymaster

I think I'd rather have the EME's with the starters factory installed. It doesn't cost much more to have it pre-installed and included. I have yet to have anyone tell me NOT to get an EME, so I may just go for it. Still haven't received the wood yet. I have the plans from Hostetler. I have...

    Hostetler Cessna 336 Skymaster

I tell you what. I'd love to have it finished for MF, but I'm still waiting for the kit to arrive. I'm anxious to get started. I think having two electric start 55's would be awesome, but I don't know much about the EME brand.

    3DHS and Extreme Flight Merger?

You know, now that I have all the issues worked out with my 3dhs airplane, I really really like the way it flies. However, I just cannot see myself buying another airplane from them given how poor their customer service is. If I am going to pay top dollar for an airframe, I expect to get top...

    3DHS and Extreme Flight Merger?

    Looks like it's been confirmed.

    Hostetler Cessna 336 Skymaster

As far as engines go... I am thinking about doing two 55's. I'm very tempted to buy two of the EME55's with auto-start. Yes, it's a little gimmicky, but wouldn't it be cool to have it start all by itself?! Also, hand-flipping the rear engine will be a tricky process to avoid hitting the tail...

    Hostetler Cessna 336 Skymaster

Abell RC makes aluminum main gear for this plane, which I have now ordered. Fiberglass Specialties makes the two cowls, the air scoop, wheel pants, and windshield. Also ordered. I'm still looking for a source for the nose gear, such as the one in the attached pic. Sierra sells one, but...

    Hostetler Cessna 336 Skymaster

I received the plans from Hostetler the other day. It's a little intimidating looking at them and wondering where to start. No instruction book, obviously. No responses on landing gear options yet for my fixed-gear version...

    Randy, those are awesome!

    Hostetler Cessna 336 Skymaster

I placed the order with Precision Cut Kits. They said it will take 5-6 weeks for delivery. I was hoping for much sooner, but perhaps that is the standard. I ordered the plans from Wendell Hostetler's website. They said they'd ship them the next day. I sent emails out to source the landing gear...

    Hostetler Cessna 336 Skymaster

I'm going with the fixed gear 336 over the 337, which would require a complicated retract setup. Since this is my first build of this type, I thought I'd keep it somewhat simple and relatively inexpensive.

    Hostetler Cessna 336 Skymaster

Thank you. Currently waiting on a call from Precision Cut Kits. I originally contacted Kitcutters, but they said they are not currently cutting any kits.

    Hostetler Cessna 336 Skymaster

I'm going to take the plunge and build a big twin, the Cessna Skymaster. I'm working on finalizing the order, (more details to follow) for the plans, wood, and other parts. My son, Oliver, who is 9 years old, is going to help me with the build and eventually the flying. Why the Skymaster...

    3DHS Yak 55 91" - vibration issue

Oh, and use triangle stock everywhere you can in the engine box.

    3DHS Yak 55 91" - vibration issue

I don't think there are many of these out there. For 3D mayhem and tumbling, I think you'll like it. For precision flying.. Meh. As far as the build goes, I found that taking the cowl on and off was a major pain. The wheel pants did not stay on long. I'd recommend completely re-doing the...

    Aurora 9X strange issue

I just got an email saying it has been received. Hoping they can figure out the problem. Will it come with the firmware updated as well?

    3DHS and Extreme Flight Merger?

I agree 100%. Honestly, I think 3DHS planes are awesome, but after my one purchase experience with them and their complete lack of customer service, I promised myself I'd never give them money again. They don't answer their phones, and email is hit-and-mostly-miss.
