IMAC learning and support using flight videos

Great on the competition, too bad on the dead stick. What region are you in? I've been back in hobby 2 1/2 years now and competed Basic last year for first time. Won 2nd by tight margin (80 pts). I had zeroed one spin in a keeper round. I enjoy it since I used to teach aerobatics in Mudry Cap...

Welcome orthobird "Clean" 3D and XA is lacking without smooth transitions. Those smooth transitions are natural progressions from the discipline of IMAC/ Pattern and precision flying. I'm trying to get everyone I know who is serious about high performance "full envelope" precision flying to at...

Anyone in the area of Plum Island, MA we are in the middle of a two day fly in. Having a great time! All types welcome. Flew my first turbine! I think I see 50 or 100 CC before turbine. It was fun but I know I'd want a nice 3 D euro fighter and I don't want to sell a car! Lol

    78'' Extra

Mine has 50 in elevator and it cranks and pops just fine. I only have room for 45-46 on the rudder. Ailerons are 50. Have fun with it it's a great airframe!

    78'' Extra

Just redid my setup with Ty McCormack and we managed: Elev- 46 deg, rudder- 48, aileron- 50. With Ty's help I got 5,5 and 8 more degrees out of it and the performance is great. PTs get 1.5-2 turns and 3 D is much easier with the wing staying stalled throughout the rollers with the increased...

    78'' Extra

Yes. It was pretty impressive watching "the kid" go through the process while explaining it. "Like butta!" I was very giddy when I flew the "new" plane! Doing roller loops (albeit sloppy) not once but twice that I couldn't the day prior. The 5-6degrees more on the elevator was the key to keep...

    78'' Extra

I want to thank Tyler McCormack for giving myself and a couple other club members a practical airframe setup demo at the field the other day. Ty met me to "tweak" my 78 extra. He set to it like an Indy pit crew chief. Fast but methodical and explaining as he went. I had a hat cam on it and will...

Yoda. I hear the age issue loud and clear. We work with the kids as much as we can here in NH near Portsmouth (after school programs, sim, intro and buddy box flying at events, etc. With your location and abundant Aviation history at the flying field I can see how warbirds would be the popular...

FAA 2014-0396- interpretation of new rule for Model Aircraft

You're kidding right? I hope so. Even though you sound a bit peeved as we all should be you do express common sense and are obviously concerned about safety. It's the folks who don't care about anyone or anything that worries me. The "I can therefore I will and I don't care about the risks or...

FAA 2014-0396- interpretation of new rule for Model Aircraft

I wasn't making an accusations just a reminder to those who have not commented beyond the forums. That is needed also to heighten awareness of the problem. "If you see (or hear) something (irresponsible RC behavior of any kind that could jeopardize the hobby) say something."
