Discussion How to Land a 3D airplane

Sounds to me like you need to find a new runway. What you got there is a land based carrier deck my friend! Why not put a tower mid field and paint some numbers on it, install a catwalk and add a little LSO (landing signal officer) on one end. You could call it the USS Model Eater! Definitely...

    78'' Extra

Waiting on a new hat cam. I was using a key fob that never let me video more than about 2.0 G even with an 8G card? I went with the HK one for $35. I try to vid every flight for self critique so when I get a worthy one you'll see it. Don't expect too much but I'll share. My skin is pretty thick...

    78'' Extra

I'm very lucky. The person who sold me the 78 has an ES 30 and 40 both like new. We're going to pick the best one. I understand they just went to an ES 35 now. I'm hoping we guessed close on offset, down and right thrust. Don't feel like dicking too much but that's part of the hobby too. This is...

Yeah, they cancelled "cow day" up here and we couldn't go see the calf cause they thought it would rain! When anyone asks me what the weather is supposed to be like for an event I tell them "it's going to be a great day and we'll know for sure when it gets here". Half full. Well Jacob that...

DLE 35 RA Mods- Reed Valve, Bowman Ring, Single Post prop adapter

That's it. Mostly taking the time to do the preventative preemptive maintenance. I hope it pays off. I can't see how it won't.

Progress being made! Have to go on a trip for a few days but getting close to cranking this first gasser up. Went with stock muffler to break in. Using 30:1 pennzoil air cooled for about a gal. Xoar 20x6 to start. Aft break in we'll fit the ES 30 or 40.

Don't mean to bring up the dreaded foamie again but the Peaks non airfoil tail does pretty well and that's foam.

3DHS --FLY LOW-- Always OFF TOPIC

Hmmm let's see. I'm thinking of a correlation of Flt time vs ability. 1flt per month= lucky to takeoff n land 2 per month= good takeoff ? Landing 3 per month= takeoff, landing with 1/2 oz CA ... 975 per month- what was it? Oh ya, "Jacob that was frigin AWESOME!" Repetition, repetition, repetition.

We do have a local running the 20x6 and doing well with it. I'll keep the 19x8 in mind.

Oh I know I'm going to really enjoy it! I got some Penzoil to break in then I all ready bought an 8 pack of Sthil Ultra. So, I guess I'm in the premium camp for now. I have a Zoar (wooden) and a Hover (CF) 20x6 for it. With the single shaft prop adapter trying new props will be a breeze.
