    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

Not much time to play with the Timber rebuild, but I did manage to install the gear again. Treated the rubber after a nice soapy bath. I previously had poked a vent line hole in the lower fuselage, this time I turned on the laser cutter and made a ring retainer.

You guys are getting technical, I like it. Why no less than 2x 3500? I’d rather use lighter packs and switch them out more frequently (couple flights). Do they just maintain a higher voltage longer? The fit on those wings… sheesh. My 120” Turbobushmaster needed some sanding with the wing tube...

Can’t believe I’ve pulled through and made this happen. Fuselage covering is done! The next big item to tackle is the broken rudder.

Here’s another pic of the landing gear aluminum support block. Decided now is the best time to change out those whimsy 3mm T nuts to some HD ones like in the wing. Heated it up with a soldering iron to soften the glue and put it came with a little pressure. Had some expired 5103 adhesive...

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

Dude it's like 40F and all the snow is gone here! The two aluminum 90deg brackets that's attached inside either side of the tunnel has about four 3mm bolts each that are screwed from the inside of the tunnel to the fuselage frames T-nuts. the second photo you can see my allen wrench and the...

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

Been staring at my poor timber… decided to take it down and start poking away at it. Found out that I was missing over half the 3mm bolts holding my landing gear aluminum support block in! That’s nuts. I think because it was loose is why it got so damaged from my soft tree landing. Overall it’s...

I'd put a 1/4-1/2" bump in the aft air exit. You could just cover a little piece of ply and glue it to the front former there. Maybe some tri-stock if you want to get fancy. I'd be happy to draft something in CAD for you, shipping and item to Canada might be tricky.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Forgot to share this video from a slope soaring event I attended last May in Monterey Bay California. Kinda fun to try something different. https://forum.alofthobbies.com/index.php?threads/camp-n-fly-2024-may-4-5th.3806/page-24

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

The flying field is actually a USFS bus parking lot for the Mendenhall Glacier Visitors Center. The busses drop of the tourists and then come here to park. Some companies actually start some tours from this location. Juneau got 1.8 million tourists from May-Oct . . . the town is 35K residents...
