    Hatch rough framed. Now just gotta figure out how to attach it. This whole airplane has been kind of a royal pain to build..... But I guess at this point it's all rough framed now just gotta work out the details.

    The plane would have to be totally redrawn in CAD as these plans are hand drawn and honestly not that good. I'm having a lot of issue with things fitting and these parts were cut exactly like the templates on the plan. Who knows how many times they have been copied too and things are just off.

    Rear turtle deck added after I cut in swervo holes and glued in ply doublers for the screws. I added a little of that wood putty I mentioned earlier after a good sanding to fill in any gaps and make the fun to stab area look good. Lots of sanding ahead!

    I really hate epoxy so I've been using tite bond. I've found you can mix some balsa sawdust with it to fill in places too.... While I was taking a picture I really like that Elmer's filler. I think it's glue and sawdust mixed together? It's a lot tougher stuff than regular light weight...

    This morning I removed the wing and cut and glued in my landing gear blocks. I used a scrap piece of the tri stock to space them against the fuse sides and clamps to hold them down.

    Since I was waiting on glue to dry I started the wheel panties. 3" Sullivan wheels fits nice. I'm going to have to get some axles though.

    I got the wing on and lined up. I drilled and tapped the ply and poplar blocks for 1/4-20 and then hardened the threads with thin then retapped. Once the glue dries for the front alignment pins then I can build the hatch and nose.

    Stabs are now glued on. Added some cross and diagonal braces to stiffen the tail up like Cardens are built. Bottom has cross grain sheeting so it's pretty stiff now. Will add top fuse sides once I figure out and cut in my elevator servo locations.

    Built the elevators. Plans for the stab are off so I had to pin both elevators together and then sand them. Also straighten my stab ends up square with the trailing edge. Old hand drawn plans that's been copied a few times aren't perfect....

    DLE 30 is what I have for it. I did order and receive the plans for the Big Hots, and the Super Hots, and the Hots as well so who knows I may do a bigger one some day?

    Thanks for the positive comments! I keep thinking about the covering scheme for this one. I can't decide if I want to go with my standard red and white scheme (I can see those easy) or if I want to do some kind of warbird scheme?
