91" SkyWing ARS 300 Assembly Thread

Thanks!:welcome: I don’t have enough time on the airframe to say it’s faster or even to compare to EF planes in this this size. The plane slows down great in high alpha, and feels rock solid. It never feels like it’s going to fall out of the sky. Landings felt a little faster but that may have...

Sounds like you have four now ha ha ha. If your going to plop it down like I do, maybe so. I don’t think you are going to flatten it out with just two. I like the extra rigidity.

Trying a more robust spring. This version doesn’t turn like the last one I had on with the 2” wheel. Hmmm.

It’s probably a combination of both. I’m no magician with covering.

Covered my cowl. Oofff that took a long time. I decided to add a couple relief holes in the side for some bonus cooling.

Which slicer are you using? I'm using Cura, you can actually adjust infill density to increase or decrease at the top or bottom I'm pretty sure. There is so much a guy can program into it, but man does it take a long time to learn it's capabilities.

50% infill is pretty tight. I'd try 40% or thinner, 3D concentric infill and you can also thicken the walls. But sometimes it's good to leave good enough alone ha ha

WOW. I'm terrible at overhangs. Did you glue the 5 an 0 on, or print it like that? - Answered my own question, printed flat. I can see the lines LOL That nozzle must be huge, it would have taken me forever to do that with mine.

Same reason I haven't used SBUS LOL. With Futaba I think you can buy a servo decoder and use any servo for SBUS. Haven't tried it, but ,maybe XBus is the same. I don't think it's really worth it for a plane this size.

Alert! The FAA want's you out of the NAS!!!

I need to read the document in it's entirety.... Like the last few... The FAA weblink says they want our input.... Input they shall get. How sad, either this minority is not loud enough, or our advocate cares more about their sustainability and integration than ours.

Playing with the super otter. Still debating if I need to open up some cooling vents in the cowling rather than just passing air. It’s a scale model, so no hardcore up on the throttle action. Tail is being built up too.

@Snoopy1 You could try to use XBus with that new radio you got too.

Hmmm. The fuselage carbon tube. put a hole in the side of it, run the wires inside of the fuselage tube. To minimize the size of the hole, delete the servo extension connectors and solder the wires. un-pin the servo wires from the connector that goes into the RX and it will come out another hole...

Scale 20cc Edge 540 Profile “The Glitter”

I just drilled a hole in my mojo 40's tube. If it's strength you're worried about, take the connectors off the servo pins, and solder your extensions, pull it all through a small hole that just fits the servo wires. I'd cover the fuse, then add the tube personally. Add micro balloons to the...

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

Got my tail wheel fully mounted. Except I’ve bent the spring so many times it broke. I’ll need to replace it. I think the moment of the tire in relation to the pivot point decreased its rotation. May need to change that. Other than that I like it a lot. 2.5oz more than my other design overall...

I have only heard great things about her. I asked the guys here in town about the price. I really don't know what would be better, clear printed white, or white vinyl. Sounds to me like the one piece might not hold up and not look as good since it's printed. That IS my local shop!!! There are...

Anyone have experience with vinyl graphics/decal pricing. I was quoted $130 for clear decal with white letters uncut. Or $240 for cut vinyl. Here is a clip of what I’m doing, note that the ward air letters are about 1.125” high. The price seems high, but I am clueless. I found a plotter cutter...
