Scale Nelitz 1/3 scale Cub build

shoot! I wouldn't be surprised if McMasterCarr had a 1/3 scale cub!!!! LOL That 1/8 looming works good before you add connectors, otherwise you'll have to use the 1/4" stuff. It stretches out pretty thin too. You've been making good progress lately!

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Dude…. Are we on the same brain wave in December??? I literally had made something similar for my 120” TBM without knowing you were up to it as well ha ha.

Maybe Calle Graphics? You can get various nomenclature sheets... although mostly for warbirds. They do custom work too. https://callie-graphics.com/collections/nomenclature Cub: https://callie-graphics.com/collections/piper-cub/products/traditional-yellow-cub Panel...

    Yes/No?

It's a high density foam core which is also used in full scale I'm pretty sure.

    Yes/No?

Oh man, That's a bummer. I'd try and sell it to someone used, and get a new prop. Otherwise, Id rough sand the inside of the holes with like 40grit, then tape off the bottom. Get some carbon fibers and chop them up about the width of the hole, mix with slow curing epoxy and pack them tightly in...

    Timber 110" Twin Build

Very cool! T-Tail maybe?????? I thought it would be neat to make an iris opening in each wing panel with a motor.... Love dreaming this kindof stuff up!

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

That is wonderful to hear! Sorry to say that Carl passed away a few years ago, we had many good memories together and I really miss his random phone calls to talk about model airplanes. I helped clean out his model airplane shed with his son and wowza there was a lot of stuff in there (still...

Very cool, you should be able to flat spin like a pro. Now you just need to make that whole assembly tilt up for some wicked VTOL :mario-banana:

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

My pleasure! The gear is probably the 60cc H9 X-CUB gear, which is also on my timber. The gear comes in red and covered, I stripped them down and painted them "carbon mist" enamel. Yours appear to have been repainted in yellow? Can you get a flexible header to the cannister? There is someone...

    110" TIMBER Assembly Thread

Welcome to GSN Laurent!! Think it's about 6-8mm. Basically, just enough for another hole with the same edge clearance. Having a quite motor will be nice, my DLE55RA is pretty noisy. There are no cowls available anymore. I contacted Horizon about a month ago asking for any molds or CAD files...

    3DHS 75" EDGE 540 V2 Assembly Thread

Hey John! Sorry for the late response. The 73 Laser is hard to beat IMO, I really love that plane. The 75 edge does track great, feels a bit looser on the sticks so to speak with it's larger surfaces. There is some room for a small cannister and maybe a pipe, but I don't think the weight...

Sorry to hear about your loss, I've helped a couple families now in the same debacle of what to do with everything and it sounds like you did a great job.

Scale Nelitz 1/3 scale Cub build

It's just very difficult to trim post layup and as far as the wetting it's not as spongy as glass... Would be neat to laminate it in between glass layers for strategic support in areas prone to abrasion, flexing, or impact. Composite gliders use thin kevlar weave strips for the hinge material...
