Why do you use HV and / or why don't you?

Someone on another website did some testing of his own on the 9370 servo and came back with an average of about 430oz of torque at 8v. Not bad for a servo rated to 347oz of torque :way_to_go:

12S power systems ideas and options

I have not yet, I am wanting to try one of the flow through ones from TDRC. My list of parts for this airplane seems to keep growing :banghead::cool:

Not using the manufacturers recommended set up for an electric motor

Because the motor has less voltage to work with, current flow will go down given the same prop. If a manufacturer calls for 10s, why not use a 10s setup? Flight times will still vary on your throttle use. Some use more throttle with less cells, so flight time may go down because amperage draw...

You guys can bet your arses I'll be out bright and early to whore up the camera on @Spats Slick :mario-banana: I think he needs some fresh background pictures for his computers anyways... I noticed all the same old ones on there last time I checked :banana-dance:

Why do you use HV and / or why don't you?

That's why we include the PAD with the HSB's, in the event you use a BEC/regulator. They're still ultra efficient, and they're HV compatible so you can plug a 2s lipo/ion directly into the receiver. Whether you run them at 6 or 7.4 volts doesn't actually even matter because the brushless motor...

Why do you use HV and / or why don't you?

You guys need some brand new Hitec HSB-9380 servos in your airplanes. Fly all day without recharging, they draw almost nothing!

I actually quite like Arizona, but not the Metropolis areas. Bullhead City is my favorite currently. The heat has never really bothered me, the dry-ness out there is actually comfortable. It's kind of weird hearing about how your pool is AC'd. My favorite AZ weather is flash flooding and storms...

    Question? C Rating

The only company that I can think of that has a really truthful C rated pack is ThunderPower, though I will say my big HK 6s packs have been holding pretty true to their 30c rating. I've noticed one of them has a cell that's starting to take a dump though :banghead: Who would have ever thought...

12S power systems ideas and options

I'm using a 24x12 Xoar PJN, static current is 76 amps, 3400 watts. That's with 30c packs, planning on upgrading to 55c packs soon here, Thunder Powers. Save some weight, get more energy out of the packs. I'm expecting to be around 80 amps and 3700 watts static with those. The system can handle...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

I had the peanut gallery chime in the other day. Did a WOT knife edge pass with the Yak and all I heard behind me was "That's adorable, it would have sounded better with gas!" (it's electric). I started doing rolling loops and cubans and didn't hear much else from them from the rest of the...

It's an old Multiplex tool(makeup)box, has some dents and dings in it, but overall a 9/10 shape. I am going to need to do some more tweaks to it, I'd like to fit power jacks to the outside for 12 and 24v applications so I can close the lid during charging and use multiple chargers if need be...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Got a sweet new toolbox, fitted my power supplies (x2 12v in series for a 24v), threw all my junk in it, and am going to bring it to the field for its official first run. Did a little test run tonight, everything seems to work great.

Why do you use HV and / or why don't you?

I never recommend parallel charge boards. Every cell has to be at nearly the same voltage, otherwise the charger can overcharge one cell, or not fully charge another cell. This can easily create a fire situation, and single channel chargers are only designed to charge 1 pack at a time. If you...

Why do you use HV and / or why don't you?

I don't get it... (maybe because I'm tired). Lithium creates its own oxygen when it burns, so it needs to be smothered. A Class D extinguisher is copper based so the copper inside of it basically melts to the lithium and chokes it out.
