I went stock. Once you put the whole plane together rock the wings. You’ll see them working. They could be a bit lighter but with the geometry not being perfect you don’t want them too loose. Check out my you tube videos beach flying and you’ll see them in action.

    3DHS 75" EDGE 540 V2 Assembly Thread

I ran up the motor/ESC after soldering a new bullet connector on and it ran great. Just tired of the flight times.

    3DHS 75" EDGE 540 V2 Assembly Thread

Gotta get grinding! Fitted the engine bolt washer area to fit. Put some new slots so the Velcro straps can hug the 14oz tank better. Oh the cowling... got the basics done. Inlet air path to the engine. Spark plug hole, and exhaust. In order to fit the Jtec Pitts wrap around muffler I had...

91" SkyWing ARS 300 Assembly Thread

Got my temp sensors in. Took me a while to figure out how to set them up. Also the instructions are so vague! I did a bunch of forum search and someone mentioned using silicone fuel tubing and just wedging it in place in the rear of the cyl head top fin galley. Hmmmmmmm guess it works, but what...

Out with the “old” in with the new! I’ve had this DA35 sitting here for a while now, time to mount it and fly this plane again! For the record I re soldered the vaporized bullet connector and ran it up with no issues. But I’m Done with the long charge times and 4min flights. I’ve seen this...

Scale 20cc DHC-2 "Beaver" Kit Build from Moustache Model Works

Nice, I've done one before on the H9 WACO. It came with a black dummy 7Cyl radial and pushrods. I just had to glue the aluminum push rods in with canopy glue and hand painted the cylinders silver. Thanks for the idea with the ignition wires! The plane I am modeling it after (N4794C) has a dark...

Dangit. I’d call them to make sure you get one. Emails can get overlooked and it’s hard to get the exact answer you are looking for.

Quite a few people have had this issue. I don't know if anyone here has one though. I've heard of most people contacting Horizon and getting a replacement no problem. Can you fix it with canopy glue? Post a picture.

Scale 20cc DHC-2 "Beaver" Kit Build from Moustache Model Works

Ordered a bunch of dummy radial fronts from Park Flier Plastics. They are about $5-$8 a piece depending on the size. I have another project that will use the 5-3/4” this one with the 6” and an 8” because I just wanted it ha ha ha. The 6” fits all the way in the front of the inside of the cowl...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Sebastian from RC Europe. Some have had bad luck with the guy, but they worked with me on shipping to the US. I think they had a sale too when I ordered mine which helped persuade me on justifying the shipping and overall cost. If you do buy from them. Contact them first and confirm it’s in...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I'm not sure if this is sad or insane. I cannot wait to finish my Otter and Beaver so I can build a Goose. The otter needs some wing work, and I need to get the iron back in the fire to keep the Beaver build going... but this Goose... So neat, the designer I respect a lot. He's very informative...

It's no different than our gas motors yeah? I'm sure it would be fine if everything was tight and locktite was used. I just removed the blazing start mount last week from my 75" edge and it was pretty hard to remove with blue locktite.

Good try, and even better to know when not to go up even when you really want to. Sounds like you had some sort of entertainment.

Best result is to get a tapered reamer. That way you do not drill the hole off and ruin the prop. https://www.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0095p?FVSEARCH=prop+reamer edit: the XPWR 40cc has a 10mm shaft Also I have to ask, you did get and Electric prop, not a Gas right?

Just giving to a friendly hard time buddy. You've tangled with the ground a lot with your laser and still came out on top. . . with a repair or two.

Okay, I'm convinced. Ordered two cyl temp telemetry sensors for my Futaba 18SZ. Not sure what I'd do without TowerHobbies coupons to make it happen. Also ordered a HV Tech Aero, curious if it gets rid of that little tiny hesitation I'm hearing and cannot seem to tune out from idle to WOT. All...

91" SkyWing ARS 300 Assembly Thread

Call me crazy, but I think my left/front cylinder is pinkish. I must have a overheating issue. It's tuned well in my opinion, and dies like the throttle cut was hit. Seems random, but as this puppy breaks in the engine gets rich, so I lean it out to compensate as the rings set. Doing so the...
