In Alaska, most all gas is ethanol free which makes it easy. I think I started using 91, but switched to 87. It made it easier to fill up my 1 gal tank then top off my truck. But now I'm the proud owner of three gasoline engines, I may just buy a 2gal jug and keep the 1 gal a petroleum based for...- AKNick

I did some flying too!! Got about 3flights in with the 71" slick, one with the foamy, and had the beast owner come out and fly it. I have a lot of respect for him. Build Log Top Flite P-40E Warhawk Gold Edition kit
ditto. Our main flying site is a shared site, so I feel you pain. Tour buses park in the lot during the summer, and the city dumps snow off the streets in the corner. Complicated to keep going.- AKNick

I've had the slick for 2 years so nothing new ha! The beast was maidened and flew very well. Uneventful. Just a trim out and did a few loops (zero coupling). Tracked very nice and wasn't overly draggy at all. A little tail heavy per the manuals CG which was good, since the battery would fit...- AKNick

Good report! It's sprinkling around today here, but I flew the slick yesterday and the eflight p51... One retract wouldn't retract... :( but extended all the way for a landing. Hoping to fly tomorrow- AKNick

I don't think they make a 6" "balloon" tire Maybe the only real difference is the fact that there is treads vs the balloon tire is smooth????
