The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

That’s the way most are here but since I use the student version I have the entire program installed. Fuse thickness will be up to you. I have seen them be made 1/2”, 5/8”, and 3/4”. Personally I like 5/8” thick and use a .605 tube. 1/2” doesn’t save enough weight for how much it will start to...

Lol. Still trying to get up with the IT guy at work to install CAD on the new laptop they issued me. Company wide they got rid of everything that was running windows 7 or older so my old laptop had to go.

Was given this today. Apparently it’s designed by Lyle Larson and is called Dago Red. 56” span hollow molded wing. Guy said it flew off of a .40 two stroke. I’m thinking it needs to be electric as I’m done with glow fuel. Wing has slight damage to the LE in one spot but otherwise it’s in good...

The outer casing parts that where all painted and will get repainted got put in the sandblaster. All internal parts where put in a heated parts washer and some red Scotch brite pads used on stubborn stuff. The fan blade and blade guard are aluminum and I plan to polish them up really nice so I...

Buddy I used to drag race with had an Astre with a 454 big block in it. Was an all out drag car with full tube chassis. Fun to watch him run.

    Discussion Flap/Elevator mix a' la C/L Stunt

I have never done it with any of my full fuse planes but I have with my profiles and it works well. The trick I have found is not to use to much flap. I started off trying a 100% mix between the do and found it did very little and after talking with a probro buddy he told me he runs less flaps...

I flew futaba for a long time then a couple years ago switched to a Taranis X9D using their stock FrSky protocol and opentx operating system. Huge learning curve with opentx but was well worth it in the end.

I’m going out flying thread 2019

Did some glider towing this morning with the timber. Wow where we impressed with the little ASK-21 glider. My buddy released and fell right into lift and kept it up for well over a minute. Few more flights then he caught some good air and had it up for close to 5 minutes. Little timber towed it...

Haven’t done any cad work recently. I was issued a brand new laptop a work a few weeks back as we where told everything needed to be on windows 10 going forward. I haven’t had a chance to get AutoCAD installed on the new laptop yet just from being very busy at work.

Not on the site yet. All I know is 85" span and prolly has a DA50 on it. Would assume weight to be between 15-16lbs and wing area prolly somewhere between 1200-1500 square inches
