The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Had a little fun in the sun before the winds got to bad. Got a scarey video of the edge profile I will upload tomorrow. My thumbs got crossed up in an up close hover. Fell over and came at me. Some ducking and weaving and I basically did a rudder turn around my head with a 55cc plane. Might have...

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

I know I will. I have flown a buddies plane with one but now I will be able to make back to back flights trying the two diff wood props I have and then the falcon and seeing how they all compare. Honestly my my big profile edge I don't need any more than the xoar wood prop I'm running as the...

Little blurry but basically I finally worked up the nerve to drill my first falcon cf prop. It's currently bolted onto my pau Sukhoi but it might get swapped back and forth between it and my 55cc edge profile. Looking forward to getting to fly a falcon prop.

    Scale Pitts S1-T, S1-S, and a Challenger.

So are there any kits out there for a 20-55cc Pitts S-1???? I have found a few sets of plans out there that don't look all that part to build but I'm not in the mood to take on making a cowl and canopy. Just wondering that's all.

Not as much room as it looks like. From the tree line on the right to the one on the left is just over 100' long. I would be comfortable flying most of my slabs there though as they float and are easy to just harrier land. Not sure I'm willing to fly my 55cc one there though. Yes that power line...

    3D MOJO 65 w/20cc Build

Receiver mounted in my 55cc edge. In my sbach I had it turned facing one wing so once wing was installed I could plug everything in.

Here's some more from yesterday. Buddy been daring me to fly the 40 size edge in my yard so I did. Lots of fun. Gonna try the smaller back yard next.

    3D MOJO 65 w/20cc Build

Fuse on my sbach 65 was 5/8" thick and it worked well with a little plate to hold the receiver.

I think the little bit of wing rock will go away when I get the balance worked out and my expos set right. Plus take into account it's a dle55 on a 13.4lbs plane so the torque of the engine kinda rocks it a bit. Kinda wondering if I need to try a diff prop.

    3D MOJO 65 w/20cc Build

I used to use medium ca to glue sheer webs but it was advised to me to not use ca at all but rather use wood glue there. With ca there is more of a chance of it popping free in a hard load. Like Kenny said no need to make fuse wide. In a 40 size slab the wing will normally be one piece and...

Was a good say flying yesterday. Only 5 flights on his so far but I'm getting used to it and really liking it. A touch on the nose heavy side currently but I will get that fixed before the next outing.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Building a 66% Senoirita. Comes out to a 44" span and ubber light weight. Fuse as it sets in the picture is 1.23oz. Will get a blue wonder setup. Been fun building it but takes a little time. All framework in the fuse is 1/8" square sticks so I'm using wood glue over ca as ca will wick into the...
