IMAC The new Dalton 300 SP / 330

Hi Cam, Glad you are on the mend, I'll give you a call later today. As for my CG, I have it set at 27 percent MAC, and that works out to 3.75" back from the leading edge tips. When projected tip to tip, and I just checked, it's right at the leading edge of the tube. As of today I now have 20...

Cam, Yours is looking real good, for some reason even though I have subscribed to your thread, I haven't got any updates since May 15. In any case, the two 300 SP's that we are about finish building have a built up front hatch area vs. your new foam one. When we were building the first two that...

I too like the schemes like Clint's 230 and most of the first mid wing 300's, simple, graphic, easy orientation when flying. Tom

Cam, here are a few to look at, the top two is what Ron used as a base for his Dalton 300 SP, fifth one down is what I used as a base. Tom Mid-wing 300 with cotemporary scheme, this is the one Ron used as a base for his Dalton 300SP

I have used True Trun, Mejzil, Pete's in the past, all great spinners, but the Dave Brown Vortech I use the most. No problem with custom cuts and drilled and lightened back plates and every bit the quality of the others but at a much more reasonable price. Tom

Cam, I just weighed the remaining wing panel from my Dalton that had a wing failure (aircraft in my avatar). It weights 2 lbs. 14 oz. complete minus servos. This wing was vacuumed bagged using West Sytems and some very light sheeting (too light). So my new wings with carbon fiber spars top and...

Looks real good Cam, if we had a bag system I would at least use it for the leading and trailing edges. Tom

IMAC The new Dalton 300 SP / 330

Cam, After our call the other night, I weighed Ron's and mine two sets of completed covered, hinged 300SP wings, minus servos, that finished using top and bottom 1/4 x 1/4 x 48" carbon fiber spars that we West Epoxied in and used 2 fl. oz. of polyurethane for the sheeting and about an oz. for...

Cam, glad you made it and like it. That drill guide Ron and I came up with saved us a whole bunch of time, and all of the holes in the flying surfaces and control surfaces lined up perfectly. And since we are making two Dalton 300 SP's we had to make 240 holes, this was a big help. Tom
