Back to covering got the bottom of one wing done, what a difference to be working with flat surface.

So to understand you just paint with regular Latex house paint. Do you have to clear coat it ?

I’ve never tried to paint plastic or fiberglass with it. But I’ve used it on wood and foam many times.
The way @BalsaDust does it would work okay for plastic and fiberglass I think.

I've painted with latex before on glassed and primed surfaces, then buffed the paint with a buffer, came out real nice I would image one could match covering material. When painting with latex I used gloss finish paint. I normally use base coat-clear coat color matched at the auto body supply house.

Thanks for everyone’s input it is appreciated. Now just have get the lockdown over with and then I can do some paint buying at the local paint store. Have the blue, orange and white matched and see what I end up with.

@pawnshopmike nailed it. I've been playing with a Mustang and not the flying kind. But yes I just put a piece of the color I want on a small piece of scrap balsa and have them color match it. I can't remember off the top of my head but I think I just had them do it in a semi gloss latex. Then mix it 50/50 with Minwax Polycrylic (it's water based so it mixes just fine and no bad smells) and it will spray just fine out of a HVLP gun I have from harbor freight. I then do spray the parts afterwards with rattle can clear coat as I'm not sure how the latex paint would hold up to glow or gas getting on it.

Nice to hear from you. Just have to be done before spring so that you can go flying, have to keep your priorities straight.
How are you doing and thanks for the help. And by the way the Mustang is looking a lot better. How old is she now.

Made a little progress today just a slow day but at least finished the second wing bottom. Now comes the top part of the two wings and I am not sure how I am going to do them right now. Make them all white and stick a massive bright Blue BREITLING sticker across the top of both wings. ?
Looking at them I think I will know when looking at the top or bottom.
