Fuselage sheeting is pretty straight forward on this build...the turtle deck is a bit of a tight radius right at the top...but soak the balsa sheet with Windex and it rolls right around without too much effort...just take it slow.

To add a little scale details and also to hide the servo wires running to the top wing I got some streamline aluminum tube from Glenn Torrance Models and slid the original cabanes through them...a little filing of the edges was needed to get them to fit and I needed to create a trough for the servo wires to run through the 2 rear cabanes. Once everything fit well, I used JB Weld to permanently attach the streamline tube to the cabane struts.

I've been occasionally flying my 35%, but I don't fly it much or for very long because I don't really like it with the 170, but after spending more than a year restoring it, I had to get some flight time on it!!

That Pitts looks awesome Bipeguy...I don't know how you could not be flying the wings off that beauty! I loved watching it come together as well (I'll admit it isn't as fun re-living my build thread as it was the first time...but had to help GSN get off the ground!)

Glad your taking the time to put your build pictures over here wacobipe. Bipeguy your plane is beautiful! What engine will you replace the 170 with?

Well, I'm thinking of putting a DLE 120 in it.. I'm not looking to 3-D this thing so don't need the stupid power of the 170, but I haven't ruled out looking for a good used DA 150.

Oh my gosh. .. a 170 in a 35% ????

How heavy is it that you would put a 170 in such a small airframe ?

A DLE 120 should fly it with power to spare. Hover and pull out to

It is an awesome looking plane. You did a great job on the build and finish.

I guess I should have led with that

It weighed in at 35 pounds with the 170, the popular choice for the Trueworthy 35% is a 150 but I had a brand new 170 on the shelf and decided to give that a try.

If it had full span ailerons and a bit bigger rudder, I think the 150 would be a great engine for it if you wanted to fly 3-D with it. I think a 120 will give it good scale power.
