3DHS and Extreme Flight Merger?

Speaking of Tower, I would like to see them run both product lines and use the merger to simply streamline things like CS.
Maybe that's already been said, but I think marketing both design philosophies side by side, rather than making a compromise of both would be pretty powerful. Then bill it as a one stop shop for every 3D pilot.

I agree 100%. Honestly, I think 3DHS planes are awesome, but after my one purchase experience with them and their complete lack of customer service, I promised myself I'd never give them money again. They don't answer their phones, and email is hit-and-mostly-miss.

A couple years ago they had the best CS out there. Not sure what happened.

This is my impression.
Airplane guys are very passionate about the hobby and tend to have easily excitable personalities.
I have no doubt that the work involved in making a living by building expensive toy airplanes for grown men is potentially... aggravating. I assume a reported lack of product support is due to an owner who has been overwhelmed for too long.
Then again, I never had to contact either companies with a substantial after sale issue.
I think literally the worst thing I've seen on my EF or 3DH planes was an out of square rudder counterbalance. I sanded it, dry fitted it and recovered it.

I've bought 3DHS for at least 3 years, and I don't ever remember good customer service. I used to buy them from resellers like ADC Hobby and Esprit Model to ensure I'd get help if I had a problem. I still love the planes but I've sort of moved on, after selling 5 planes, my one and only 3DHS plane left is the 57 Extra, I'm not parting with that one.

BTW from the Redwing owners club FB page.

Kinda funny how watching this thread has made me look more at redwing for my next one but that would be off topic :). I was told by another 3DHS fanboy that yeh CS is really bad until you buy enough from them. That comment alone turned me away with even the mention of that kind of service. Like one person mentioned earlier these are luxery dollars that does not have to be spent on these models. So yeh they do need to work harder for people of all skill levels. Not just the experienced fanboys. The arguements between EF and 3DHS owners reminds me of the apple/android debate. But after reading all this I have a sliver of hope that they may take the best of both and make a good place. EF does need help with their looks of their planes and 3DHS gets CS finally.

Lol ya I'm having a difficult time staying on topic as well since I'm most likely getting a 50cc Redwing Extra 330sc soon! I could buy 3DHS or EF but really, why? I support those companies that deserve it and have earned it. I've never seen a harder working Guy then Tim. Not to exclude Rocco from Aeroworks and Ray from Aerobeez. They always... always pick up the phone or call me back right away and I've heard that from a lot of people as well. Shoot sometimes it's well after business hours!

Yeah, customer service (answering the phone, returning phone calls and responding to emails)....goes a long way.
Tim and the crew at RedwingRC have been awesome in these areas from my personal experience.

Mike, I've already got a 50cc Redwing Extra and it kicks A$$ - really enjoyed flying it last year and really looking forward to more time with it this year, hopefully starting this weekend.
I'm hoping to get a 50cc Slick/Edge from RWRC soon as well :D :flyer:

Just a note, I recently had very good customer service from Redwing RC, they handled the problem quickly and answered my phone calls and emails promptly with a positive outcome!
