Maidened the 48" Edge yesterday, flew three packs through her. Needed a couple clicks of trim and it was spot on. Flies very nicely.
Thats great Matt, congrats!

I like the way this thing elevators. Deadstick, it rocks the wings just a bit and falls slowly straight down. With just a tick or power, the wings lock in and it slowly descends in a very predictable manner. I'm flying the recommended setup (Omega 130 on 3S, 14x7, HS-65MGS all around). I got a couple nice looking pop tops out of it, along wish several dead-duck looking tumbles where my timing was off on the pop-top.
Interesting contrast with the EF Edge. Admittedly not apples-to-apples since I am flying the EF Edge on 4s. The 3DHS Edge is very floaty, sort of a "friendly" airplane. The EF Edge is less floaty, and kind of a sociopath. It doesn't have any bad flight habits, but there's a subtle undertone with it like it wants to eat your lunch....
LOL
anyone with this plane flown the 47 extra? if yes, what are your thoughts between the two?
i just got the aj yak with the omega 130 and have the buck 50 with the motorfly 4815-950. i noticed today that the motorfly has more punch and speed. it almost feels like the plane is running 4s compared to the Omega.
The Omega is 870kv, compared to the Motrolfly at 950kv (more rpm per volt). That's probably why you're feeling a little less zip with the Omega. And I'm assuming you mean the 2815, not 4815....
I liked the extra a little better. Seemed slightly more stable to me.
Thanks Gary... Have the 48 in the box and wanted to set it up with the 47 guts.... Oh decisions
