Scale 50% Christen Eagle full scale exclusiv-kit

The wall thickness for the 100% Eagle tubes are a little thicker, but the strength of the stainless steel
tubes allows for the 50% Modell this kind of thin tubes.

The complete tube fuselage construction included the rudder and elevator ist only about 7 pounds !

In Germany you have a weight limit of 25kilogramms before you have to register the model as an aircraft
so if you want to sell a model like this also in Germany you have to be careful with the weight.....

After fixing the aileron rib boards left and right, the aileron well construction is next.

The leading edges are made as a ready to fix part, because you can save weight and
the problems with the surface while using only thin balsawood, problems with the nose
sanding and a lot more are just history ! The leading edge parts are only 70gramms and they are
very strong and no problems with the damage of surface now and later if the wings are in use.

Hello everybody,

My Name is Thomas, from the south of Germany.
Since 2013 I´m working on my CHRISTEN EAGLE ( 100% scale ) and
also on the Project of the 50% CHRISTEN EAGLE as a Special exclusive Kit we
decided to do like Frank Christensen did in the 80´s.
The reason for this Project is: There is no good EAGLE Kit 50% scale, which is
really looking like the original EAGLE. We did all the construction in CAD 3D
and the fuselage and tail structure is like the 100% EAGLE welded from tubes.

We are reporting in a German rc-Network to give a look at the first 4 EAGLES
we are building to test all the Kit parts we are manufacturing and to prepare the
Manuals and photos ....

A lot of RC modeler from US which are interested in the Project and the kit would love to have
a thread in english language - so we are doing here.

Sorry about my english - hope ist getting better in the month´s we are reporting here !!!

We are looking for a US Import Company as well, to send ordered kits in one crate/Container
to one adress to save Money.
If there are any ideas, interrests or whishes - please let me know.

The following Pictures ( sorry for the German words on it ) is the first view into the Kit Project.

The Pictures from the ready built 50% eagle and the flight Pictures are from the prototype
which has not the finally shape of the cowling, wheelpants , canopy - we did that with stock
parts only to do the first flight test.

Just saw your project, you are doing a great job, congratulations...

We did some tests on ground and had static thrust of
66 lb´s with the 3-blade prop. The engine was not completed in the run-in procedure at that time.
The 2-blade 36x14 produces a static thrust of about 70-71 lb´s.kk
We did those tests only on the field with an electronic scale and apiece of rope to fix the aircraft.

Maybe some changes at the carburator air and some more running time we can increase
the thrust .

BUT: the concept of this eagle is to do aerobatics like you are sitting in the Cockpit - not 3D !
If you want that - put an 270 ccm 4-stroke 4 cylinder boxer from Kolm engines in. :)-) )

How much does the 2-Cyl Valach weigh?
Could you realistically put a Boxer engine in it and not have to add an extreme amount of tail weight to it?
Don't they weight in at 15 - 18 lbs?
Could only find a 240cc and 340 boxer from Kolm. 6750 gr. & 8050 gr., respectively.
Would be nice to use a boxer type, as that would be more in scale to the original 4-Cyl. engine in the 100% version.
