hahahaha , well it would be great to see you guys there, and by the way you have a bit of time I think I did mention I postponed 2018 to 2019, still too much work to do and as you already know, we are developing a 50% scale continental O 200 engine. and will need some testing time. Oh by the way a lot of the construction of the engine will be 3D printing with aluminum, titanium and plastics, , Hans Kolm of Kolm engines is the genius behind this

I like 'em "BIG"!

Ok, I now officially hate you. I spoke to Hans a couple of years ago regarding one of his engines. As it turns out, my buddy bought one of the Kolm 240 (4) cylinder beasts. And let me tell you, that thing is a pure work of art. Not only does it look so freaking bad ass, it runs the same way too. I thought I loved my "dub" red headed 4 cylinder. But that 240 is out of this world. Love the way it just tick, tick ticks at idle. Smash the gas and it is a sound you will never forget. I am sure the continental will be just as amazing.

I didn't know you postponed until 2019. But that is juuuust fine with me. That gives me more time to prepare. Heck, it was probably not going to be possible for me for '18. But I bet I can make '19. After talking to Gerhard (Aircraft International) I was sold the moment we hung up from talking on the phone. It would definitely be an honor to meet you face to face and shake those "talented" hands. (Maybe some of the magicians magic will rub off on me. (Not likely, but one can dream right?)

Thanks for such a nice reply, so here is the scoop about Hans Kolm which is not a secret.

He sold the Kolm engines to his partner, they had a falling out. Now with this , he is now employed by Airbus aircraft company, in charge of all training on CNC, metal 3D printing etc etc, with one of the best facility in the world in Austria.
I started designing the continental engine from scratch, but I have never designed a working engine before so , not a good idea. Then I decided to contact Hans, which we have been in contact for quite a while, and I asked him if he would be interested in my engine project, his answer was , "hell yes", The engine will be scale, but the innards will be of his tried and true kolm engines , this part will not be scale but no one can see it. It will about 500cc, and also making a 300cc, the 500cc for the Dalotel, and the 300cc for the display at Top Gun.
He will again make engines but scale only like this one and some radial engines as well, I told him he better get is order book ready because there are plenty of airplanes needing a scale boxer engine

This multi-pin plug... is that like a D-Sub connector or something? Cant see the whole plug, I like how you gooped up the wires to help the wire strain off the connector, a good measure for sure.
This is an excellent build, love seeing your techniques and designs! I'm just eating up the wealth of information you're providing here, thanks again for sharing.
