Help! Anyone own the 104" AJ Slick?

The pool has turned towards the legal road, not there yet but probably headed that way.
Went out with the wife this afternoon and on the way home the mood started to return for the hobby. So I have started back on the Challenger build a little. If the mood continues tomorrow I will get the Laser out and fire it up, I just realized, I am really wanting to hear that Valach run and then haul that bird around the skies!!

It’s good to get your mind of the pool for a while and some times it gives time stand back and maybe get a new perspective, and or game plan.

The game plan on the pool is to send the letter of concern and wait until the, law required, 45 days to take legal action. That is of course unless he take's the honorable route and voluntarily does the right thing of dig this out and start over or dig this out and refund our funds.
For now, after confirming what I thought I knew with our attorney, I am not worrying about the pool. The wife is so disgusted she don't even want a pool now, and like myself, she just wants to head to the hills for a few weeks.

The game plan for the Laser is to fire it up in the morning and if all is good figure out when I can get it to the field for a maiden, I will not do a maiden from my place.

Man if you have the space to do it at your place go for it I would, less people bothering you less chance of making mistakes. And if something is not just right the shop is not far away.

I have the space but I also have neighbors. I would prefer not sending an out of control plane into their home or yard, school is out and kids are outside. As minimal as that risk may be it is still a risk.
Therefore it is much more comfortable doing maidens at the field. I also like having other modelers around, they can be helpful occasionally. lol. You know, things like range checking, holding the plane, spotting, a tool forgotten etc.
So far this morning I am not feeling the get it out and run it, but the day is young.

The mood hit to get the Laser and Extra out, but, I soon realized I had not done anything outside towards the test running area. I also realized early morning running on the door side is not well suited as that is the side the sun comes up, but the other side will work very well. I have a small pipe for the restraint and a composite pad designed to deflect the exhaust from the airframe. So I am working on getting that area set up, the planes have been charged as well as the Tx. I will be ready for some running this afternoon/evening, as soon as a bag worth of concrete set's up so as to hold the pipe for the restraint.

On the pool fiasco,
The general has taken it upon himself to chisel out the pool instead of waiting on the one responsible for the mess the concrete guy, his guys are here with some real tools going to town. Woo Hoo!

The concrete for the hold down pipe has not cured enough to hold against the AJ Laser's pulling force, or more appropriately the Valach 120's pulling force and now it is raining. So more than likely there will be no engine running today, but, it will be ready in the morning.

I can not believe it, the Valach has been started. I ran it thirty minutes extremely rich and then leaned the needles just enough for stable flight running but not so much as to not still be rich. Next up will be to run it with the cowl on just enough to see what the temps do, without the cowl it was running 240° would like to see it stay near that with the cowl on.
So off I go to put the cowl on. Later Dudes!!!
