I like 'em "BIG"!
Thanks Rob,

Did you ever fly one of these Yak's? I'm really looking forward to flying this thing. As far as size goes, if I get any more Behemoth, I'm going to have to get a trailer to carry the plane in. . . . ..
Behemoth trailer for a Behemoth plane, right? I've never had the pleasure of flying a Hemple Yak 55. Great flying plane from what I've seen and been told.

Man it is good you are back the last time I remember you were building two planes I hope I have that correct. Followed you on that really enjoyed it very informative about IMac. Good to see that you have moved up into advanced. So must still be enjoying it and getting better and mastering how to build a competitive plane. Would be nice to see what you are flying now days.
I do have one question what is the engines of choice for IMac now days.
That would have been a while ago :) 2 3dhs 330lx's, one blue scheme and one red. The blue one is gone to a new owner, but the red one has served me well for the last 3 years. I am currently assembling a Dalton from PAU. It has a ZDZ 195 on it with JMB cannisters. Should be very interesting to see how the power compares to the 330lx with a ZDZ 180 on cannisters.

The engine of choice for most IMAC fliers is still the DA line I have to be the odd ball and not conform, I guess that is from my years in the Corps :) I absolutely love the brute power of the ZDZ engine line. Nothing against any other brand, just my preference

You and many people are very pleased with the engine. What intrigues me about the engine is the rotary intake vale. The ideal must definitely be much more stable and lower, and the midrange very linear. I am looking for a 110 to a 120 cc engine for the 330 Extra that I am building right now and have been looking at the ZDZ 112. How easy is it get headers and exhaust manifolds for the engine.

thurmma a fellow imac pilot is using the 195 in the Hanger 9 Suk 3.1m A few of the other pilots with DA200 were taking note at how much torque that engine has , it's more powerful than the 200 .A true stump puller .
Like snoopy1 said the mid range is incredible guess that rotor valve works get. I'v only used rotory intakes on racing engines and they worked flawlessly ..

Funny you should mention the 200. I am using a 30 x 13evo 3 blade on my 180 on the 330lx that weighs 43 lbs dry and it will pull through a double snap on a vertical upline and keeps on going. I have had a couple judges ask me why I don't apply throttle until I am in the uplines and I tell them that I only apply what throttle I need to complete the manuever :) It blows them away.
